Got a new or used vehicle gas cap seems to always be on the wrong side.

My bet even though you didn't post the make and year of vehicle, that you have a ground problem. Not to mention other loose connections. Please provide and update of the vehicle.

have the oil pressure checked with an independent gage as sometimes gages in the dash don`t show correct pressure. how long has it been since the oil was changed as oil when it gets dirty it thins out and can affect oil pressure. if you don`t hear any ticking with the motor running chances are the pressure is either good or just a little low. testing oil pressure with an independent gage will tell the tale.

• Well the fuel filter is underneath the truck on the passenger side rail about midway. You will need this gas line tool to remove the gas lines. http://www.amazon.com/Assenmacher-Specialty-Tools-8012-Remover/dp/B000H6P0A2 you can get it at any parts store as well.

1. Put some safety glasses on.
2. Remove the gas cap.
3. Remove the bracket holding the fuel lines by the fuel filter to give you a little working space.
4. take the gas tool and put it around the line and press towards the fuel filter. You may have to wiggle it a bit and work with it but eventually it will pop a little loose and the you pull that line out of the fuel filter.
5. Do the same with the other line.
6. Now the fuel filter should be out. Note the arrows on the new filter and the arrows on it. The arrows must point forward or the fuel filter will not function properly.
7. The fuel lines just push firm right into the new filter.
8. Now reverse the previous steps to finish the job.
9. Don't forget to click that fuel cap a few times to make sure it is on real good.

The fuse panel is found on the passenger side of the vehicle. Open the passenger side door and you should see a "fuse access door" on the side of the instrument panel/dash just under the vent.

a fuel sending unit seems to be the most popular solution. the part is about $40. I think the labor is what's going to kill you.
