2003 Toyota ECHO Questions & Answers
What is wrong with my Toyota Echo 2003 Automatic 1.3L?
I would suspect the alternator. A low voltage will cause this with some electronic instrument clusters. Get a voltmeter and check to see that the voltage on the battery when the car is running is higher than when the car is not running. A good battery may indicate around 13 volts when fully charged, but while running an alternator will run higher voltage often greater than 14 volts. Be sure to bring the idle up while testing for running conditions.

There are other problems if you could get it to autozone some how there are error codes that could be read from the ECU Are you getting fuel to the fuel rail? You could try some gas on the air filter and see if it would fire. That would confirm a fuel system problem.
Floor heat
Your actuator is bad on the vent door, that switches from cool to hot. some units have several of these, some only have one
Toyota echo floor heater problems
Check passenger side, under dash, make sure any loose linkage is actually attached to the baffle levers. I had this happen. Passenger accidently kicked the linkage off and suddenly we had no heat. It was seriously cold inside. Mechanic showed me the linkage disconnect on passenger side under the dash right under the glove compartment.
