Where is the fuse or relay located on a 1998 Lincoln Navigator for the rear side vent windows?

The fuse box you need is the one inside the vehicle. It is located behind a 'pull off' trim panel under the dashboard. It is roughly above your left knee when you are sat in the driver seat. The vent window is fuse 29 which is a 30 amp fuse. Try the website below for more information. **Note** ONLY replace fuses with a fuse of the SAME Amp rating.

1998 Navigator w/5.4, 4 wd. The current issue is it is very hard to move the shift lever. A shop has suggested the problem is in the neutral saftey switch. He didn't want to address it.

possible in the switch but more likely in the cable or shifting levers --dry/rusted / damaged

Why would my 1998 Lincoln Navigator have a miss in it?

Are your sure this is an ignition related misfire, have you checked that the fuel injector is working in the suspect cylinder, does it have at least 95% cylinder pressure on a compression test compared to the highest reading cylinder? Do the testing. Also what are the fault code(s) you are showing on a scan.

I can't find the fuse for the power windows on a 1998 Lincoln Navigator

All the other windows work ? Not a fuse , one fuse powers all the windows . Test for B+ voltage at the switch an the window regulator would be the proper diagnostic procedure . Do you own a volt meter ? know how to read a wiring diagram ? how to do basic automotive electrical testing . The Faint click you hear is probably a relay , which means the GEM - genaric electronic modual is energizing the window relay . The windows are computer controlled . The GEM will activate the OTD Relay until one of the following conditions is met:
  • The LF regulator control switch is pushed to the UP position.
  • The LF regulator control switch is released (OFF position) and then moved to the down position (first detent) or one touch down (OTD) position (second detent).
  • Seven seconds have elapsed since the OTD was initiated.
  • A window regulator electric drive stall condition is detected on the one touch down sense line inputs.
The UP window operation is not controlled by the GEM. The feature is activated when the delayed accessory is active and the LF window regulator control switch is pressed to the UP position. The switch provides delayed accessory power to one side of the motor and ground to the other side through the one touch down relay. The one touch down relay is not active when the LF regulator control switch is in the UP position. Passenger windows may be raised or lowered using the LF master control switches or the appropriate passenger window switch. Passenger window switches receive power when the delayed accessory relay is active and the LF remote lock-out switch is in the UNLOCK position. When in the LOCK-OUT position, the passenger windows are deactivated. The GEM controls manual down and auto down window movement with the down window relay. The relay is activated by applying ground directly to one side of the down window relay coil, and deactivated by removing the ground signal. The delayed accessory relay provides power for the operation of the power windows and the power moon roof. The delayed accessory feature is active when the ignition switch is in the RUN or the ACC position, or when the ignition switch is changed from RUN or ACC to the OFF/LOCK position and the LF and RF doors are closed. The GEM will deactivate the delayed accessory feature when:
  • the LF door is ajar and the ignition switch is in the OFF/LOCK or KEY-OUT position.
  • the RF door is ajar and the ignition switch is in the OFF/LOCK or KEY-OUT position.
  • 10 minutes have elapsed since the ignition switch was changed from ACC or RUN to the OFF/LOCK position.
Feature inputs:
  • LF door open warning switch (open circuit with door closed, grounded with door ajar).
  • RF door open warning switch (open circuit with door closed, grounded with door ajar).
  • Ignition switch RUN position (battery potential on both the RUN and RUN/ACC inputs).
  • Ignition switch ACC position (battery potential on the RUN/ACC input).
  • Ignition switch OFF/LOCK position (absence of battery potential on the RUN, RUN/ACC, and START inputs).

Where is the courtesy light switch in the drivers door on a 1998 Navigator

courtesy light switch , is door ajar switch an it's part of the door lock actuator . Light on coming on ? Not going off ? The ajar switch is a input to the GEM module , fords BCM - body control module . The GEM will energize a relay to turn on the lights . The GEM will illuminate the interior lamps when any door is open or ajar. The interior lamps are; the dome lamp, the rear cargo lamp, the door courtesy lamp and the side rail lamps. The courtesy lamps will shut off when the doors are closed and the illuminated entry feature is not active or when the vehicle speed is greater than 5 mph (8 km/h). The interior lamps will not be reactivated until the vehicle speed is less than 3 mph (5 km/h) and a new door open warning lamp switch is received. The GEM controls the interior lamps illuminated entry function by activating the interior lamp relay. Mite be a good idea to have it check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . B1322 Driver Door Ajar Circuit Short to Ground GEM GO to Pinpoint Test B . B1323 Door Ajar Lamp Circuit Failure GEM REFER to Section 413-01 . B1325 Door Ajar Lamp Circuit Short to Battery GEM REFER to Section 413-01 . B1330 Passenger Door Ajar Circuit Short to Ground GEM REFER to Section 417-02 . Whats the egr valve code on a 98 Lincoln navigator thats 4wd

You have more than 1 problem. Sometimes EGR flow code is wrong because the paths under the throttle body are clogged and EGR is ok. Mystery is lack of heat which can affect engine controls. Could be simply thermostat or sensor for water temp stuck on hot. Stall out is from cold start cycle not working because of false heat sensing.

I lost the key i had to my98 lincon navigator. How would i remove the old switch?

You can't just throw a switch in it, the new key has to be programmed or the car will not start, you need the dealer to make the key and program it or you can call a locksmith. The selling dealer will have your key code recorded, call them for that code

Can I use store bought egnition switch on my 98 navigagor? How can I bypass angitheift

They sell them. They just don't tell you that it has to go to the dealer to be programmed. Takes two keys to be programmed also. No bypass on these. Some locksmiths can do this also.

It goes in all the 4 wheel drive but want go in 2 wheel drive and a navigator have light inside that show that its in two wheel drive 1998

The vast majority of vehicles that have 2 wheel and 4 wheel drive will only light up something on the dash when in 4 wheel drive.(They also light up 4 wheel drive low if you have it) I've been driving 4 wheel drives for 25 years and have yet to see one that lights up something for 2 wheel drive.
