Car not starting
Yes without the cam signal it doesn't know just when to fire the respective spark plugs
My range rover will not start at all help!!!!
Most common problem if the car wont start is that its an electrical problem.Sir I think you'll have to check the ignition switch , the battery , the wires ,the fuses, the coils, the spark plug and don't forget the sensor.Because of there might be a short circuit that have happen to your vehicle .If it will start then it will stop that can be non electrical problem. If you have the equipment to use then its good for you'll save money, but if you don't have equipment then better go to a car mechanic to be sure. To troubleshoot is what there going to do.
1996 4.0 Range Rover won't unlock
This car is in super lock mode... when you press remote 2times to lock or when you lock with remote and try to unlock using key manually.
there is a 4 digit number to open the door, its like opening a safe, starting from the left(key in car door) it goes L/R/L/R. so if number code is 1234..... left 1, right 2, left 3, right 4.
or if this too troublesome you can ask landrover dealer to remove the KEYCODE.
happy trying.....

Ignition coil burns out on Range Rover P38 efi
make sure you disconect the battery or the computer still reads that the circuit is open and will fry a perfectly good coil. I had the same issue and had to do a second time. Disconected the battery and now no problems.

Rear door open LR
Not 100% sure on your particular vehicle but there should be a push in style button of some kind that the door presses against when closed. Look for such a thing on the door frame area where door makes contact when closed. If it's faulty, could cause it. It may be as simple as adjusting your door striker in slightly to eliminate or lessen movement of the door.
Overheating after about 20 mins running
I've had the same problem, twice!
The solution is 2 fold:
1. Replace the filler cap on the overflow bottle, the genuine RR part works best;
2. Replace the 'O' Rings on the heater matrix under the dash. This last is quite a fiddly job, go to
www.rangerovers.net for full details on how to do it. If you take the vehicle to a RR dealer they want to charge huge amounts of money because they replace the entire heater box not just the 'O' rings.
Good luck
