the motors never burn out in a cadillac ive had them since 69 its always the switch on top , hook up a hot wire and a ground wire from a car battery to where the switch hooks up to and the hold down will go up and down , get your money back for the motor if you can , the switch is about 75 dollars from the factory, i herd a lot cheaper at a ford dealer because they are the same switch they use in big ford cars. the switch has 1 screw and one 2 wire harness, just a thought , you must know where the switch goes because you took it off the old motor and put it on the new motor ,,right?

You need to remap the ECU as the immobilizer kicked in when you have done all that work telling the car that someone is trying to steal it.

I had this problem with my 1999 eldorado. The problem was the alternator

Yuo need to replace the turn signal stork arm

it means just what it says..your low on engine coolant and that is causing it to run extra hot...this is not good! let car cooldown and take radiator cap off have a look inside with a flashlite..water level should be almost up to the filler neck. if you have the red dex-cool you"ll have to put in the same its not recomended to mix the green and red. if it doesnt your in luck just fill up a jug or get a garden hose and fill it up to the top if its low. leave cap off for now and put some water in the coolant tank if its empty only about halfway dont overfill. now start the engine and let it warm up for about a minute and see if the water level goes down if it does add a little more water up to the neck, now turn off the engine and let it stay like that for another minute to make sure trapped air can get out. Now put back on the cap. Now go for a 10 min drive around town and then see if the warnings have cleared and its running at a normal temp range. also park in a new locating so after you turn your car off you can check to see if its go a slow leak overnight.

Go to the top or bottom of the radiator follow the hoses back to the engine block

Where the hoses joins the block there will be a cap with three bolts holding it down the thermostat is underneath

Sounds like you might have a tps issue.Unplug tps and see if it starts. If it does replace the sensor

its inside the gas tank itself you have to drop the tank make sure the fuel pump relay is good first and the wires on top are the tank is good give these websites a try www.alldatadiy.com and www.autozone.com if all fails stop by your local library and get your hands on a Haynes auto repair manual for your car wish you the best of luck Michigan Man.

you will need a new washer pump that is located in the washer reservoir and a new wiper motor cover which has the circuitry for the delay wipers. All you do is change them out with new parts and it will operate like new again

To replace the starter the intake manifold must be removed. This takes a skilled mechanic.

its hard to get to,its mounted on the drivers side above the belt driven water pump,if your not familiar with the northstar engine is suggest you have a repair shop replace it

Either the system is still low of freon,or the sensor (one of them)is bad.The sensors are on the high side of the system,liquid line.If you will get on chat,I can help you with this,it will take a while,I will need to know how much freon was added.And what the system is doing,is the ac clutch engaging,etc?Ask for ronicon,when you click on chat with,type my name in,roniecon,with your text,that you are writing .

My friend, while it is true that the dealer is guessing a bad PCM, the dealer is THE true professional. He has the trained professional mechanics, the professional diagnostic tools, the genuine parts, everything needed to make this guess and to effect the repair of this problem. I'd guess his is a pretty good guess even if you don't accept it.

You might get a lot of suggestions here at FixYa.com as far as you can try this or you can try that. You might make the trouble worse if you are not sure what you are doing nor have the proper tools to do it with. You have just invested a pretty good sum into this 10 year or so old car and it needs a little more TLC.

I suggest yo return to the dealer and have them make this repair. Certainly, the dealer will stand behind it.

What you will need to do is get the theft deterrent codes read.This will help in finding the problem.You will probably have a B 2960.The problem is usually the ignition lock cylinder.This reads the key and if it sees the correct code it allows fuel to the motor.What usually happens is the wires break from the ignition cylinder being turned on and off all the time.Hope this helps.Good luck.

This is telling you you need to change the oil right,You need to change the oil filter air filter spark plugs and plug wires.It just needs a good service.

Try taking it for a service. Not trying to be funny. But most mechanics will hopefully attempt to tell you what is wrong with the vehicle and can save you a lot of time, money and headaches!!! At least then you can decide on your next course of action as it can be many factors leading to a high idle!!
