Ground wire keeps burning out

Sounds like the ground wire is not grounding properly. Maybe not tight enough or the thing it is grounded to is not properly grounding to the engine. Try grounding to a different spot on the engine where there will be a good ground and see what happens. Possible the starter is pulling too much power and needs replacing. I had that happen some time ago.

Location of fuel pump& fuel filter

Fuel Filter REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
  2. Remove the push connect fittings at both ends of the fuel filter. This is accomplished by removing the hairpin clips from the fittings. Remove the hairpin clips by first bending and then breaking the shipping tabs on the clips. Then spread the 2 clip legs approximately 1?8 in. (3mm) to disengage the body and push the legs into the fitting. Pull on the triangular end of the clip and work it clear of the fitting.
  3. Remove the filter from the mounting bracket by loosening the worm gear mounting clamp enough to allow the filter to pass through. To install:
  4. Install the filter in the mounting bracket, ensuring that the flow direction arrow is pointing forward. Locate the fuel filter against the tab at the lower end of the bracket.
  5. Insert a new hairpin clip into any 2 adjacent openings on each push connect fitting, with the triangular portion of the clip pointing away from the fitting opening. Install the clip to fully engage the body of the fitting. This is indicated by the legs of the hairpin clip being locked on the outside of the fitting body. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the ends of the fuel filter and then push the fittings onto the ends of the fuel filter. When the fittings are engaged, a definite click will be heard. Pull on the fittings to ensure that they are fully engaged.
  6. Tighten the worm gear mounting clamp to 15-25 inch lbs. (1.7-2.8 Nm).
  7. Start the engine and check for leaks.

1987 Mercury Sable won't turn over.

I don't know if there is a free wiring diagram available, but to turn the engine over you will need to purchase or build a bumper switch. A bumper switch can be easy to build and relatively inexpensive. Get two gator clips and a bumper type toggle switch. Connect about three foot of wire to each side of the switch, this will create a broken circuit. Locate the ignition wire which is on the starter, since there has already been a lot of damage to your wiring, one more cut won't hurt. Clip this wire and skin it back and connect one gator clip and then connect the other gator clip to a hot battery, this will create a complete circuit. Switch the car on and push the button, it should turn the car over if the starter good. If the starter doesn't turn over then that may be your whole problem.

PUT KNEW THERMASTAT IN STILL BLOWING COLD AIR THE EXPERT TOLD ME

Most auto supply stores sell a radiator flush kit. You install an adapter in the heater hose and hook up a garden hose to the adapter. You must start your car and run the heater in the max hot position to flush the heater core.

I have a 1987 murcury sable heater is cold changed

First, with the engine running, squeeze your upper rad hose to try and close it off for a few seconds. When you release it, if your water pump is functioning properly, you should feel a surge of coolant go through it. If that is okay, try loosening one of your heater hoses with the engine running, and see if you can get any air to come out. Sometimes... quite often, in fact, the heater core will become air locked and not allow any coolant into it.

Ford ignition switches are not the best in the world.Check the volts to the coil, when the van dies, see if the volts drop, right before the the van dies.If so,replace the ignition switch. If they do not drop, then you might want to replace it anyway, because the switch controls so many other values. If the switch does not fix the problem, then the e c m,is the only other solution.I hope this helps, and I believe it will, the ignition switch, but if not, replace the computer, and I think you will have it licked. If this was any help at all, please let us know, thank you.
