Need to repair a back window on a 2005 chrysler convertible

probably not --if it has torn along the stitching then it will be too small to restitch. Tearing of any material indicates that it has reached it's service life so best consider a new piece in the repair.

2005 Chrysler Sebring with error codes p0700,p0720,p0731

2006 Sebring Convertible - Transmission Codes - P0700, P0720, & P0731.... 2006 Sebring Convertible, started while driving around town - transmission did not want to shift and CEL came on. Stopped, checked transmission fluid and looked for anything obvious. All fluids good, nothing obvious. About 5 miles from home, drove back roughly 15-20 mph. Only other issue that had came to mind was the alternator had been making a whining noise for some time, probably 3 months or so - had mentioned to wife that we should replace it before it completely failed. Found one reference on the internet that the alternator could cause weird electrical conditions / interference if bad - leaking voltage back through ground. Thinking the alternator likely needed replacing anyway, I replaced it and cleared codes - all issues were solved - no more alternator whining and all transmission issues resolved. Replaced alternator on Sept 9, 2019 today is Sept 12, 2021 and still going - I think its safe to say the alternator was the culprit in this instance.

My 2005 Sebring 2.7 v6 won't start. It acts like a bad ground, any clues?

Wiring CAN be a problem, but it is not the first thing to check. When cars fail to start but you hear "something" (click), the first thing I suspect is the battery. You say the battery is "good", but you don't say how you determined this. Simply the fact that accessories work doesn't give the battery a clean bill of health. The normal accessory load for a battery is less than 50 amps. It can take more than 200 to crank the engine, especially on very hot or very cold days. Since you only get a "click", and yet the trip computer dims out, this indicates to me that the battery is working very hard but is not achieving enough power to start the car. Do this: get a voltmeter and check the battery voltage at the battery terminals. Do this with the ignition off. A fully charged, good battery will be at least 12 volts. Most batteries have 8 cells in them, each produces about 1.5V electricity. If you are reading, say, 10.5 volts, you most likely have a dead cell in the battery. This will not affect accessories, but will have extreme affect on starting, as the available current is reduced exponentially. Jump boxes are great, but if the battery is dead enough, the box will be working harder on the battery than on the starter and you will get the same results. I've had situations where a battery was so bad that hooking a running car to it for jump a start stalled the running car! If your battery is more than 3 years old, this is the first thing to suspect....but a dead cell can happen to a battery of any age. Vibrations cause the internal plates to break loose and cause dead cells.

How do I change the alternator on 2005 sebring

Will most vehicles, the alternator is located near the top with a belt going directly to it. This makes removal easier as you only need open the hood (bonnet) for access. Disconnect the battery's negative terminal first, and then disconnect the alternator's electrical connector. Loosen the belt tensioning bolt (also serves to affix the alternator) and tap it with a hammer to get it free to move to remove the tension from the belt. Unscrew the bolt completely and the alternator will be off. If you don't have the new alternator with you, put the bolt back in the mounting hole and snug it up so you won' misplace it. Buy a new alternator belt and inspect the starter belt while you at it. It is easier to change both at the same time, but the starter requires you get under the car to loose it from belt tension.
