It is better to buy new cluster,but it is better before you do either one of the two options, is good and logical to check and find the reason that the old your cluster shorted.

Sounds like a fuel delivery problem.Check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail with a fuel pressure testing gauge to see if it meets spec.

sounds like a trap door is stuck not allowing the heat to flow through your air duct properly ..check for any bad vacuum leaks around your intake or around your air flow leading to intake vacuum

could be the wires in the door crease are intermitent where the door hinges are

I have a 98 328is and the driver side window is only working part of the time. It is like there is no power and then the next time you try it it works. The window motor sounds fine when it runs and there is no odd noises from the door. Where would the most likely problem be?

check battery , fuel and starter

Compressor is not running all the time , it's only comes on when temperature in the cabin drops below desired .If you don't have problem with cold air in the cabin , then it's normal . If you don't get cold air , then your car may be low on freon (may have leak some were ).

Sounds to me like you have a wiring harness loose somewhere, or you have a short. Check to verify you have power at the fuse panel to the fuel pump and the instrument cluster (and, of coarse that all your fuses are good). It's also possible both problems are completely unrelated. Let us know what you find.

there is a voltage regulator in the back of the heater system if you change that it should work again. if i remember right you can get to it via the glove box when it is removed. has heat fins on it.

One touch doesn't work? Maybe initializing the window motor again will help?

I would check the fuse to the blower motor, if thats good then check power at your blower connector. In some cases the final stage may have gone out. Generally that would cause the blower to move on its own from low to high and back to low, in worse cases its either on full blast or off in your case. Good luck and let us know what you found!
