In the ring around the ignition switch (where your key is stuck) there is a recessed dimple. Get a ballpoint pen, insert into the dimple, hold it there while turning your key to the lock position (if it's not already there) and remove the key.

HI make sure your shifter if automatic is all the way in park

The Data Link Connector (DLC) = diagnostic plug - for 2006 Audi Q7 is located under dash, lower left, near hood release handle.
