• . I believe the pump is in the tank, but it's verry easy to remove. Open the tank lid and remove the bolts on the plate around the filler tube. Dosconnect all the fuel and vent hoses and lift the plate straight up. the pump, filter and assembly are on the bottom of the **** tube.They will all come out in one piece.

Depending on which type of carburetta this car has, it may be that the rubber diaphram has a tiny pinprick of a hole in it. This will affect the vacumn and the fuel control. An easy way to test this is to allow the car to rest without the engine running for a few minutes, start the engine an increase the power whilst at a standstill and see how long it takes before the engine shuts down, then let it rest again for a few minutes, start the engine and let it run just on tick over, if it carries on running for a much longer period than before then you may have the answer.

I had a similar issue with my jeep. There was a valve spring that snapped in half. Run a diagnostic to see which cylinder is misfiring and check the spark plug for any dings/dents. They stay on pass 30 seconds ? What light's ? courtesy light's , dome light's ? These lamps are controlled by (FEM) front electronic module . Do you know anything about automotive electronics ,control module's ? If not your best bet would be to take to a qualified repair shop.

Inside the PCM is a transistor that turns on an off that coil . Builds magnetic field when powered up , then when power shuts off the field collapses inducing higher voltage in the secondary side of the coil . This creates the spark to the spark plug. The PCM use a input from the crankshaft position sensor to control the coils . IF the coil is good an wires an plug good , transistor is side the PCM maybe fried . Hi. Have you tested the neutral safety switch? With the gear selector in Neutral, try to start the engine. Have you looked at all the fuses? Don't just look at the fuse for the starter. Next. Test the starter. Make sure the starter is well grounded to the engine block and that the main power cable is tight and free of corrosion and damage. A second person is needed. With a friend in the car, and a test light hooked up to ground. Have your friend hold the key in the start position. At the same time you will have the test light making good contact with the starter trigger terminal. Does the light eliminate while the key is in the start position? If it does then the starter is bad. If not, there is something preventing the starter from powering up. Examples: Starter relay, antitheft system, ignition switch, fuses, relays, modules and wiring. You will need to take your time and test and examine as much as you can. Sometimes the problem is a quick and easy fix but sometimes it takes a while to figure out. Let me know how things are going.
