Cutting out in wet weather and No power steering in wet weather?
I sounds by your explanation, that the belt which drives the alternator is slipping when it gets wet.
When this happens the alternator stops charging the battery, and when battery voltage drops the engine cuts out and won't start due to not having enough current to supply electrons as well as starter motor.
Have the belt tension checked, as well as charging output of alternator, should fix it.
I have a VW Jetta
the switch is linked to many wires to the starter/neutral saftey switch which shorted out creating this problem
I replaced the spark plugs,
You need to check if you have connected the wires to your coil pack correctly. Also check all the plug leads and make sure they are sucurely plugged in to the coil pack and on to the plugs.
If it was running prior to this and all your fuses are good then you may have mixed up the wires.

My mk3 1996 16v 2ltr was playing up, wouldnt start when cold, wouldnt rev above 4500-5000. I changed the ignition switch, ecu relay, petrol pump relay, plugs, plug leads, coil, and finally, checked the hall sender on the dizzy, and found a broken wire in the dizzy body. Got a 2nd hand dizzy from a breakers for 40 quid, (150 or more new) and all is well. (I actually took the car to two garages and they couldnt find the problems, no faults registered on vagcom).

Stalls approaching crossroads
This may be caused by a dirty throtlebody or the idle air control valve is bad, this applies only if the engine runs smooth and no check engine light on. try cleaning the throtlebody with a soft tooth brush and some throtlebody cleaner, you may also remove the valve and clean the pintle also, hope this helps.

if the cable has snapped then you will need a very long screwdriver/rod to go from underneath the car to the release catch,it is a nasty job that will give you "hours of fun",you unscrew the bonnet adjuster by the way.
I have a VW Golf
thats because the car is not at operating temperature.you will get a slight drop in power and drivability until its warm.do not try to use any more than 1/3rd gas pedal until its warm anyway.your car has an automatic cold start device (choke)that operates when the car is cold.
Driver's side window is stuck down. how do i
There are a number of things that unscrew first, like the hand rest, the window knob, the plastic behind the door release, etc.
Then you unsnap plastic plugs about every 8 inches around the bottom, front, and back of the panel. The top of the door panel basically just hooks over the door, on the ledge next to the window. So you slide it up and out. They there is a plastic membrane to keep rain from soaking the panel. Then you should be able to see the window and what is wrong with it. You will probably want to disconnect the 2 bolts at the bottom, so that you can manipulate the window up and down by hand until you figure out what jammed.
