Are you sure it's the switch itself that's gone bad? Does it work on certain speeds and not others? It's more common for the resistor pack which controls your fan speeds to go bad. It's located under the glovebox.

Go to YouTube ask the same question with a DIY. You need special tools that you can rent/borrow from Autozone or others. Probably a 2 out 5 on the difficulty level just because it takes strong hands to use the tools. good luck

most cars interior light have an off and on switch the light should remain lit when the door is open

did you check the fuses? it's a common cause for a cigarette lighter not working.

try using the remote unlock - then press the remote lock. This works on my 2000 jetta tdi. VW dealership told me $450 job to change door latch and $45 to figure out if it is the latch or the NEW key they programmed a few months ago. By the way - is yours a NEW Key?

You'll need a new ignition switch from the dealer. Removing it and replacing my rating of 6 - 10. This means unless you have a Bentleys repair manual you wouldn't know exactly where to place 3/64th drill bit in order to push the locking tab in the cylinder after all the trim is removed.
