1999 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0. Bypass the immobilizer.

Tip & How-To about Cars & Trucks Want to bypass your vehicle security system? The short answer is you can't! All modern cars have alarms and immobilizers. There is a transponder in the key and a receiver around the ignition lock. If both are present, the ECM (engine control module) or BCM (Body Control Module) releases power to the ignition circuit or the starter. When you turn the key, the starter spins the engine and you get a spark. If any one of those three items are not in the chain, you get the engine to turn, but no spark. There is no way to beat the system. You have to fix what is wrong, not find a way around it. The immobilizer is in place to stop exactly what you are trying to do. .. I have a 1999 jetta and the transmission seems to

It is 3000 rpm's. If you look at your tachometer closely it will indicate the numbers you are reading are x1000. Check your transmission fluid. Always check when warmed up and running. It's a good idea to have your automatic transmission serviced with a new filter & fluid and the cooler flushed. 1999 VW Jetta, it overheats

Did you install the thermostat backwards? It could be air bound.jack the car up on the side the radiator cap is on and run it to try to purg out air.your new thermostat could be bad. Remove it completely and see what happens.as for fan not working check connections and relay.if it has air conditioning that works turn it on and the fans should come on.if not there is either no power or bad fan motor.check with a test light for power at fan motor connection.

My Jetta ,an automatic will not change into 4th gear at 80 klm's per hour. Is there a fix for this?

That is near the border of the shift point. You may be able to influence it with accelerator or throttle positioner adjustment. That is only 49 mph.

Jetta ran out of gas and now does not start well and when shifted into gear it hardly moves. but once it gets going seems 0k?

I would try and replace fuel filter its possibly plugged up. Fuel surrounding the pump keeps it cool. It could have been damaged. If filter doesn't help have garage do fuel pump pressure and flow test and see what that my show for results.
