Usually 10w30 depending on your climate. Best to check owners manual, but 10w30 is the most common oil used unless it's a diesel then use 15w40

2004 astro van.started fine in the morning put rear brakes on now won't start.fuel pump works.when cranking over backfires through intake.didn't touch any wires when putting on rear br

Backfiring from intake usually indicates a timing problem. The brake job has not effect on the engine, unless you accidentally disconnected some wires in the engine compartment, but highly unlikely. More likely the timing belt/chain may have jumped a few teeth. If you have an access hole to see the timing belt and marks have a look. If you need more specific info most libraries have subscriptions to online automotive service manuals for almost any year, make and model of car, motorcycle, or whatever. If you have a library card, some will give you the u/n and p/w so you can access them from your home computer, if not then you will have to go to your local branch to get access, but it is free!

How do I repair all wheel drive in Chevrolet astro van 2004? hit a big bump in road. lost power. when I regained power I had no all wheel drive, thank you.

-first inspect all lines to and from tranny to rear drive. -check all wiring and connection to and from drive components. -Check connection between lines and connections to tranny and drive. -check all levels. -check for disconnect/broken linkage to the drive axles back and front (check for bent drive arm) -check for cracked housings The controller could be damaged - need to diagnose. If that does not turn up anything -- take to a shop to have working drive members and work as they should independently.

Iv got a 2004 chevy astro van with a leaking

Yes there is. Autoparts stores have them. Thing is you have to have a heat gun or blow dryer for hair ( this takes longer). Thing to remember is your working around GAS. Try to drain the gas out of the line s much as possibly before doing the repair. It will come with instructions.

How do I reset the

Hi Dave.

The proper way to reset the DTC is using an OBDII scanner. Go to the nearest Autozone, ask to do a code scanning and to reset codes.

You can also reset the codes at home but you will need a scanner like this:OBDII Scanner - U480.

Here an example showing how to use a scanner tool to reset the codes.

You can also try disconnecting the battery. That will reset the engine check light until the problem occurs again. It may not clear stored diagnostic codes. Make sure that you have the stereo anti theft code if needed.

Regards.

Abs & brake warning lights

{: ) Check first if your brake fluid is low. Better top it up at maximum level. Look also for possible brake fluid leaks. It can also be a fluid sensor or wheel speed sensors at fault. If the warning lights persist, I suggest a scan tool vehicle check to effectively pinpoint the main cause of the warning light issue.

I replaced brake pads on a 2004 astrovan. in doing

The ones connected to the bracket that spin DO NOT come out, they're part of the bracket. If you notice on those, they have a small notch on them to insert the appropriate wrench so it wont spin on you when re tightening the caliper bolts. So yes, that's absolutely normal. There in normally two bolts that hold the caliper. remove those and the caliper comes out and you can replace the brakes, now if you need to remove the rotor, then you need to remove two other bolts that are for the caliper bracket,.
