how to change the serpentine belt?
I found on my 92 lumina 3.1 the easiest way to change the belt is to have two people handy (you and a helper) push the belt tensioner (which is more in the middle of the belt system, its the only thing that has give when pressure is applied) down (which will loosen the belt) have your partner slip the belt off the altenator (which should be on the very top of the belt system on the passenger side) and just pay attention to the way the belt is routed as you remove it, put the new one on (routed correctly) push the tensioner again have your partner slip it back over the altenator....and you have a new belt on with no tools :)
just pay good attention to the routing of the belt, and i also think there is a black cover over the belt which needs to be removed before the old belt can be taken off (if you dont see it at first you will find it) it has 3 bolts i think and also a diagram of the routing....
TIP: the tensioner will take some muscle to move down, and yes the belt is running over it....

1-2-3-4-5-6 firing order( belt end looking toward trans axle ) first on left (1) (2) on right(3)on left and so on

On your 1992 Chevrolet Lumina-Sedan/Coupe 3.1L MFI OHV , the Crankshaft Position Sensor is located:
Under hood, passenger side, lower engine area, passenger side of engine block, mounted front of crankshaft pulley

Turn Signals not working
Have you checked the fuse? there is also an electrical flasher unit for the turn signals. that unit is sometime on the fuse block but could also be located somewhere under the dash on the driver side.

I have a 1997 Chevy Lumina. My brake lights arent working, but my top brake light in my window is. Checked the fuse, and put new bulbs in it. Still doesnt work. What could the problem be.
The ground wire in the trunk area, coming from the brake light harness, might have come off or really loose. Hope this will get your lights working again. Best wishes.

Trying to rebuild an 1992 chevy lumina with a 3.1 engine. I really need some diagrams for the vacuum lines for this car.
My manual isn't giving what I really need. I would appreciate any help I can get.

where can I find a fuse box diagram for a 92 chevy lumina eruo?I cant find my owners manual and I need to check a few things.Im looking for a website that has this info
it should be on the back of the cover of the fuse panel. its not far from the fuse panel and if that does't work check the manuel.

i have a 1992 chevy lumina z34, its not getting fuel to the injectors or the injectors or opening. I have fuel pressure. up to where you check for pressure on the fuel rail. it just died when I was driving it. towed it home, it started, drove it a couple days, it died and hasnt started since. replaced ecm, fuel filter can hear the pump coming on. what next???
Have you checked that engine oil level is okay, if so check that oil pressure switch is good. The switch is usually bypassed to start the engine, but it won't run with no oil pressure indicated...hope this helps

Just remove the panel that the plug is in and disconnect the two wires behind make sure when purchasing new one you get OE direct fit...
