Security light wont go off 1995 buick LeSabre

The warning light is on because the computer does not accept the chip signal in your key.The causes can be a bad chip, sensor in the lock cylinder, or a faulty module. You could try a spare key, otherwise you may need to diagnose the system.

Where the thermostat is located

You'll need:-Thermostat-Thermostat seal (A rubber o-ring that goes around the t-stat. You shouldn't need an actual gasket, though there are gaskets you can get.)-10mm socket, also an extension will probably help-You will likely need a bit of coolant or water to top off the system when you are done.-First you can either drain a little bit of the coolant, or you can loosen the bolts and let whatever comes out comes out, it won't be much.-There are two 10mm bolts on the sides of the thermostat housing, remove those and move the housing out of the way. (To avoid losing any more coolant it'd be helpful to note to keep the housing end higher than the top of the radiator.)-The thermostat will be directly under the housing and you can simply pull it out and replace it with the new one.-There's no specific orientation for the thermostat besides top/bottom. Just make sure you put the new one in the same way, which would be with the spring side down.-Put the thermostat housing back on and replace the bolts and tighten.-Now you'll want to top off the coolant and run the car.-To help air out the system open open the bleeder valve on top of the housing (It will either need a flathead screw driver or a 7mm IIRC) and with the car running and up to temperature, open the bleeder valve and let the air bubbles out. Wait until there is a steady flow of coolant coming out then shut it and you should be good to go.

How to remove the crankshaft position censor

There is a tool to remove the damper, with damper off the plastic cover pulls off and then you unbolt the sensor, note a little adjusting may be needed. with new sensor on loosen adjusting screw and slowly put damper on watch to make sure tooth goes into sensor then tighten sensor bolt for adjusting, you may need to spin damper a few turn to insure it rides into sensor with damaging it before you tight adjusting screw, the adjusting bolt or screw what ever you want to call it ,all it does is allow sensor to slide side to side . note there are threaded holes inside damper for screws to puller to go into but do not screw them in alot or damage to timing plate may occur, some newer ones have put holes in plate to avoid this. there are auto part stores that loan tools that you need, the puller
