2004 Oldsmobile Alero - Page 6 Questions & Answers
Why will the starter on a 2004 alero not ingage even after replacement?
Check battery voltage should have better than 12 volts DC. Then check voltage at starter selonoid should have voltage in and out with key on if not selonoid is bad .If it does you don't have the wires in the right places or the one from the selonoid isn't hooked up plus make sure all connections are tight.
Car runs but runs out of power and dashlights go crazy
Get your battery checked. Most cars can run on just the alternator but there are some that need the battery to be at a decent level to filter the larger power fluctuations (noise) such as headlights being turned on/off, the use of your blower and A/C unit, even the radio and most important and probably most significant (at least in my opinion) your brake booster. That can draw a lot of current and drag your engine down thus reducing power. Depending on the condition of your engine it may take longer than expected for the computer to compensate. Your battery and alternator work in tandem to provide power and when one is weak it tends to cause problems. Your particular problem could also be alternator related such as bad coil but checking your battery is far cheaper and quicker. Hope this helps =)
Car wont start
FUEL PUMP MAYBE PUMPING BUT IT MAY NOT HAVE THE RIGHT PRESSURE........
Loud noise from front axel as i drive
sounds like the cv joints have gone bad on axle, get underneath and grab the axle and see if it wiggles or moves. if its a howling noise, its a wheel bearing!
Security System car fails to start
I think what you are describing is a fault in the on-board anti-theft circuit. When you start the engine, and the problem occurs, Do you notice a light on the gauge cluster that starts flashing. It will either read "Security" or would be a picture of a lock. If you confirm this then you may need to have the ignition switch replaced. An ignition switch failure is the most common failure but it does not promise that your car will be fixed if you replace it. Other problems could be causing this problem but that would require your car to be diagnosed at your local GM dealer. If by chance, you were referring to your "Car Alarm" them that changes everything. After Market car alarms can be troublesome. They are an add-on and do not offer any assistance with diagnostics. When they fail, you have it uninstalled or replaced. Personally, I think they are a waist of money. I hope both of these comments help you. If you have other questions, please write back. I will be more than happy to answer any of your questions. If so, please try to be as detailed and specific, as possible. Good luck.

hello, it sounds like you may not have injector pulse. You can check for voltage with a volt meter & check pulse with noid lights. Check the ecm Fuses, i think the ecm b fuse powers the injectors. make sure you are getting spark at the plugs. I hope this helps.
