Where to locate the oil sending unit for a 2.8 v6
Itslower front you have to get it from the bottom its under the power steering pump if you have a mechcanicl fuel pump its slightly to the front of the engine from there You unplug the single wire unscrew it its pipe thread and tightens to 8-18 lbs But i would put some thread tape on it
Oxygen sensor where is it
depends on the engine.
4-cylinder, it's right in front bottom of engine where exhaust manifold meets the exhaust pipe flange.
6-cylinder--there will be two of them. Same place but one also on the back side.
If you have more questions, please let me know.
Do I need to drop the exhaust to get to the oxygen
You should not have to completely remove the exhaust, but dropping the front of it will greatly help in changing the O2 sensor. There IS a special socket for removing / installing the sensor that is a must have to prevent damaging the wires on the new sensor. The old sensor may be difficult to remove, so I suggest some type of rust buster sprayed on before removal. Where you need to separate the exhaust depends on which O2 sensor you're changing - usually there are at least 2, an upstream and a downstream, separated by the catalytic converter.
My blinkers do not work at all. The warning
check the ground wire for your turn signals and see if it has come loose or dirty. it should be right at the sterring columb but have to take off plastic cover to see the wires
Upper hose from Radiator burst
keep your eyes on the the temp when driving. sometimes the fan takes a little longer to come on.how bad is the anti=freeze.when was the last time you changed your hoses. every for to 6years hopefully.but be sure the fan does come on before it starts to over heat.
My 1988 Cutlass Ciera started
Sounds like a bad timing chain or some kind of timing issues. Would not drive it,until you find and resolve the problem
How do I replace Spark plug wires in order on a
hi, if you take No. 1 spark plug lead OUT from the engine side and follow this to the distibutor ONLY TAKE ONE OUT AT A TIME. if you mark the new leads with insulation tape you will not get confused and then the next plug lead and so on. gerry
1988 cutlas siera 2.8 replaced starter, had
this is teh generally most over looked problem, 99% of the time the glove box light stays on and you would never see if from inside the car. try removing the bulb and see if that solves your problem
Won't start, well if it sits for awhile then it
Most likely your starter. The heat from the engine heats the starter, and a hot electric motor is not as strong as a cold one. I had the same problem on a 1985 S-10, I had replaced the starter about a year earlier so I thought it couldn't be the starter. It was.
Some auto parts stores can test the starter (on the car), if you want to be sure.
Where is the fuse panel
Look in the fuse box, look for a fuse for, ECM or INJECTOR or FUEL PUMP, any of those will keep the engine from starting, will crank, but will not start engine.
Y would it shout off after it warms up and will no...
I'm having the same problem. Changed the fuel filter, checked the fuel pump relay and it was fine, put in a new ignition module, fuel pump is fine, and it is still doing it. Going to try a new ECM (Engine Control Module) and see if that is the problem. If there is a short in the circuit board, it can cause all kinds of problems. I will post later and let you know the results. They say it is rarely ever the ECM, but it does happen, so if everything else has checked out and it's still doing it, I figure I might as well do that and see. Bad thing is, once you buy that part, you can't take it back and there is no standard test for it to see if you have a good ECM.
Wheres the oil pump located
All GM oil pumps are inside the engine oil pan. You must remove the pan to access the pump. Then it's a one bolt job to replace the pump.
None of the windows work
blown fuse most likely, check ones under dash. if not them go under hood to black box, fuses also there
