Go to any Advance or Autozone Store and buy the Chiltons Manual for your vehicle. They are around 19.99 and this will have every repair that you will ever need to repair anything on your car. I love theses books. They have pictures and step by step instructions. Hope this helps.
Changing PCV valve
you pcv valve should be located on the top or around the intake on top of the engine. It is covered by a little pcv valve rubber hose...it is easy to identify because it is similar to a radiator hose but a lot smaller...no where near the size of a radiator hose...but when located, the pcv valve just pulls out and to check for it being bad, shake it and it should sound like something loose inside the pcv valve (thats a good pcv valve) but what they look like, they should be a silver looking color with a small little neck on it

Brian,
Sounds like you have a factory, or aftermarket alarm system that was disconnected from the siren at some point. I am guessing it is aftermarket based on the fact that it will not disarm even if the correct key is used. If it is an after market alarm your problem is relatively simple to fix. Most after marke alarms are typically installed to the indicators by connecting the wires from the alarm into the cars factory fuse box. Locate the fuse box in your vehicles cabin and find look for any electrical wires that go into the fuse box from the front (WITHOUT REMOVING THE FUSE BOX). remove these wires or just the one going to your indicators, headlights, or whichever lights are flashing. The factory never connects wires to the fuse box from the front, so these wires should be obvious.

your dash lights should dim when you turn your running lights on. This is to reduce the glare for night time driving. There will be a dial on the dash near the cluster that you can adjust the brightness of your interior lights

The first thing I would do is replace the fuel filter. This is fairly easy and inexpensive and will eliminate that as your problem. It also is most likely over due to be changed anyway. After that I would of course check for any codes and then check the fuel system pressure. This will diagnose any problems with the fuel pump.

Hi there, No go and stinks. I bet the odor is like sulphur or rotten eggs. I win! Your catalyctic converter appears to need a physical.. Actually it sounds dead and the body is restricting your exhaust. So it's not he cars fault, it just had a vital organ fail. Any exhaust MD can should be able to do minor surgery and and your car will be feeling fine in no time. Catalyctic converter is restring exhaust.
Continous surging and stalling
Per your description, I would suspect a fuel pump issue. When the fuel pump is running the pump impeller heats up. On an older pump the impeller can begin to seize up and momentarily stops and starts. Some times it just stops and has to cool down for a couple of minutes, then is ok for a while.
To test this theory, when the engine stalls and stops, your mechanic can use a rubber mallet and hit the bottom of the gas tank, this will free the pump impeller and the car will start again.
Or, have him install a fuel pressure gauge and go for a drive. If the pressure begins to fluctuate and drop, you know the pump is causing the issue.
Good luck, let me know.

I would start by checking the battery to see if it is still working on all it's cells. You can do this buy putting a battery charger with a 2amp setting and a gauge on it to let you know if it is fully charged.Let it charge over night and check the gauge if not at 100% from that long charge I would change the battery. If ok your starter may be drawing to much amps to let the ignition system to fire good enough for starting. If so try changing the starter.
