I recently tried the DIY service and repair manuals from a website and it actually helped me repair transmission problem in my jcb 3cx site-master. It would'nt move forward or reverse, engine was good both solenoids for forward and reverse worked, but still couldn't diagnose the problem. bloody hard recently changed mine in a3 sport ended up in a right mess label , mark every item even take pics on mobile phone

First thing to do is pull battery terminals( neg 1st) and clean them and tightly reconnect. Hope that helps

It's a EFI turbocharged 2.6 L, idle speed is controled by the computer. If you have a fast idle check for vacuum leaks or bad temp sensor, if it idles too slow check and clean the throttle body and IAC motor (throttle body port and IAC plunger).

Does it have an alarm fitted? If so the alarm needs resetting/fixing If not there is a short on the wiring on the horn button or the clockspring under the steering wheel is faulty

What did you do? lol Retrace your steps carefully because you must of forgot something. Is it turning over? If so, make sure your coil wire is connected.

Bad ignition switch? Aftermarket equipment such as remote starter causing feedback to ignition system? Shorted wiring harnesses?

sounds like you have a vacuum leak or the idle air control motor is out
