That is your Oil Life indicator. That means that is is almost time for an oil change. If your oil has recently been changed, then it was not reset when the oil was changed.

It is showing service ESC
It could stand for Electronic Spark Control, Is your car running rough or misfiring? If so you should have it checked soon! as it could damage your catalyst system. If the car is running ok it might just be a sensor. Good Luck.
Creaking, does it need lubed?
Yes it most likely does, use a white Lithium grease, it comes in a spray can, only use a tiny amount on the area's that are making noise, don't get it on the trim.

unfortually the dealer may be your only option. these tops are very difficult to check out and repair. when this messgae comes up, it will require a GM tech 2 scan tool to isolate the problem, this top has several latches and several micro switches. any one of the latches or micro switches can cause this message. the scan tool can monitor the latch and switches operations to isolate which one is at fault. in most cases it is one of the front three that causes the problem

you stated that the fuse was good, but did you check the relays located in a black box on drivers side, under the hood.

Look up above your brake pedal and you should see a switch that comes into contact with the pedal arm. Disconnect the switch and see if your brake lights are still one as the switch may have become stuck and is staying in the on mode.

Take a screwdriver to pry the brake pads away from the rotor then see if the caliper comes off.
