starters usually can be accessed from underneath. starters are mounted with bolts and are attached to the power cables with nuts, so, all you need is a wrench/socket set. some starrters are soldered to the power, but this is rare, and i dont believe bmw does this, but soldering irons are only $15 and are easy to learn, anyway... you dont have to tighten the mounting bolts to a specific torque, but dont overdo it when you tighten it, cause starters can occasionally be aluminum...

Hi.
Push starting in the long run can damage several parts.
The manufacturers state that it can damage the catalytic converter because of the blow of engine gas getting to the exhaust system when the car is starting.
It can also damage the electronics and the injection system, because of the slight over voltage given when the engine kicks in, and because the car will first run lean, and then suddenly rich when the pump kicks in. In some case you can also risk overheating the pump, which is cooled by fuel running inside the part.
Damage from push start is not really frequent, but can occur. Better not taking too many chances, and fixing the starter motor as soon as possible.

Bmw 1997 328 cough splutter
With a randomly occuring problem, you should first eliminate the possibility of water in the gas tank. Dump in a bottle of Heet to put any water into solution, and see if that makes any difference.
This has a fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail with a vacuum hose running to it. I think it is at the back end of the fuel rail near the firewall. If pull off the hose and see if there is fuel inside that vacuum hose, indicating that the diaphragm in the regulator has failed.
After that, diagnostics get tougher. If the system has not stored any codes that hint at the possible problem, you may be stuck with living with it until it gets worse. As it gets worse, it will be easier to trace the problem. That is, it is very easy to diagnose the problem with a car that won't start at all. It can be very difficult to diagnose an occasional random sputter.
Steering wheel vibrates really bad
check your wheel bearings. jack up the car and see if there is play when you move the wheel by grabbing the bottom and top of the tire a rock back and forth. there should be no play. the tire should rotate smoothly as well.
What is the atf oil
Do you mean that there is a plastic bottle of ATF sitting loose under your hood? Or are you asking what the black reservoir with a knurled cap that is full of ATF is for?
If you are asking about the reservoir that is part of the car, it is the power steering fluid. Car parts stores will try to sell you fluid in bottles that say Power Steering Fluid, but your car uses Dextron ATF which is the same thing only it is cheaper when you buy ATF by the quart rather than PS Fluid by the pint.
If you have a bottle of ATF, someone probably put it there so it would be handy when they needed to top off the power steering reservoir. Topping off the power steering reservoir is a routine exercise on many BMWs because their power steering hoses tend to leak.
Car makes a squeaky belt
Probably a belt noise try takeing a bar of soap when its idleing and touch it to the sides of the belt don't stick your hands in the fan but this should quit it down right away you will hear it stop if it is a belt noise
I put some gas station
On some of the bmw models, there is a valve ,at the top, near the front of the motor,to bleed all the air out of the cooling system. If you have changed the coolant and not bled all the air out,it will overheat. You don't say what model it is but the valve is easy to see,and easy to use.Just follow the radiator hoses.Hope this helps.(there is no special antifreeze)
I have a 1996 BMW
No 02 sensors don't do that. Check your air filter. And pull the plenum off the throttle body and check/ clean behind the throttle plate. Low air flow is the most common problem, when there isn't a check engine light on. One other suggestion is to replace the fuel filter if it hasn't been done in awhile.
Just purchased a 1997 BMW
you need to turn the allen screw to work the front latch release's and that will unlatch the front.also as you turn the allen you will notice the front of the top pull back slightly, after this allen has been turned un-till it stops (this may take a while) you can then start to move the top manually.pull the front of the top back, then lift the rear section, then you will be able to lift the rear lid move top into the stowed area
Roll over bars released. reset
hi its just spring activated, just follow instructions below to reset the roll bar1. Raise rear headrest to its highest possition
2. With a screwdriver, remove the plastic cover that is located under the headrest between the roll-bar.
3. Reach down into the opening to locate the metal tab that has locked the spring loaded roll-bar into place.
4. Simultaniously push the tab in (towards the front of the car ) while pushing downward on the top of the exposed roll-bar to compress the springs. Push all the way down until the bar locks into place.
hope this helps please comment and rate thanks
Hi,,,, I have a 1998
The climate control does not know how fast you are going, so that cannot be it. A '98 should not have a plastic impeller on the water pump, so it should not be a disintegrating impeller. However, if the coolant has not been changed regularly, the water pump impeller could be rusting away.
Another possibility is air in the coolant. If your coolant reservoir is crumbling inside, air gets in to the cooling system. A '98 is about due for a new coolant reservoir if it has not already been replaced. I had to do both my '97s a couple of years ago.
I have 2011 328xi and

Hi, 2008 328xi coupe, the
The window operate on a circuit breaker type fuse, fi the window are working with the other buttons then its not a power loss problem, the circuit breaker hardly ever fails, also sometimes if the master switch which is the driver door switch, fails then you may not be able to operate the other windows with the other switches but not always the case, also theres a module that controls the winows, i would remove the door switch and make sure the connection is good, these switches often go bad from getting wet, just to be on the safe side there may be a fuse for the window module if that goes theen glass will not work, theres a fuse box on the right side of the dash and then there one in the truck on the right side i would check all the fuses, they sometimes use power from another system so check all fuses, good luck,
