2008 Volvo S60 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

Most antennas are located in the windshield or back window... there are booster boxes that boost the signal on its way to your receiver somtimes they are located hidden in the trunk..and are about the size of a half pack of cigarettes.. see if you can get a schematic to help locate the boosters .

did you put a pin code when first bought , if you got it that way you have to find the old owner and ask for it , if it is new contact the co and as them

did you look in the operatrors guide, in the glove box yet> that is always first. codes can be , service required, Oil changes, etc. then you reset it per said book' or can be failures. (hard failures) that is why we look first. 2008 volvo T5 or T2.5? 146 Immobilizer Communication. Signal Missing 046 , air bags? this car, like mine can produce 1000s of DTC codes. what WE do , is use a real scan tool to see real codes. for example the 167 my show up as ECM-710B/U0167 (2.5L L5 VIN 59 Auto) or Trouble Code: ECM-92CC/P1167 (2.5L L5 VIN 59 Auto) bad throttle USE a real scan tool or its IMPOSSIBLE.

fuel pump not supplying enough fuel can cause this. could be pump or partially plugged filter

167- no change in throttle position sensor range
042- rich condition
...sounds like the throttle position sensor is going bad, unable to measure correct amount fuel per acceleration; sending too much- resulting in a rich (too much fuel) condition.
engine light may begin to flash alerting you that too much fuel consumed at this rate can damage the catalytic converter

whats a quart that went out with the romans ,it should hold just under 5 litres with the filter

Reset all tires to the correct pressure and drive the car. It should reset within a couple of miles.

every 12 months / 18000 miles wichever is soonest
use 0w30 long life oil check level weekly

Depending on the condition of the key might have to have a new key cut. Otherwise might have to take key and tumbler apart.

Yed the RFID sensors will send the proper signal to the computer and they will reset. Be sure your tire pressure gauge is accurate. Mine was out by 5 lbs and I struggled with that problem for a couple of days. went to a tire store and compared readings. threw gauge in garbage

a shop has to do it. or you need toplug it in to the computer and have a program.

There are a few things that can cause sooty smoke. Check the are filter and the turbo. If its the turbo then the exhaust pipe after the turbo will have oil in it. If you can give me more info I might be able to help more if this doesn't do it for you.

In may be the fuel pump. Check recalls on your year make and model. My girlfriend has a 2004 S60 which had the same problem. I changed the fuel filter at first assuming that that was the problem but the smell persisted. I then took it to the volvo dealership and had them replace it for free. The only bad thing is that they may keep it for a few days to do it. 

have to speak to a mechanic or volvo they have to hook up there diagnostic computer and they reset it from there

The light went out the second day, I’m taking it into the dealer for service mon dec 8, 2008, I did see the brake and radiator fluid to be low, (must remember to buy some at the dealer to keep in my garage) also I have seen small spots on the garage floor on the passenger side forward, I will also have it checked out at the same time.
