The first thing to do is to check the condition of the battery cables/terminals. Make sure they are clean, free from corrosion and are tight. Also check the black earth lead where it connects to the block/bodywork. A poor earth can cause the symptoms you describe. If that doesn't work, disconnect the positive battery cable (but bear in mind that you may lose the radio code.. do you know your radio code?) and then disconnect, clean the cables on the starter motor. If that does not do anything - suspect the starter motor solenoid. It can be removed and cleaned (remove the starter motor first). If you did it yourself and are newer at this it is easily overlooked. take it back off take a straight edge and go from corner to corner do a x corner to corner and from two corners on the right and the same on the left the long way of the head. Use feeler gauges to identify the difference in gap it should be almost flat and not be able to fit more than .006- .008 anything over the head needs to be decked.

Not sure about your car, but on my Chrysler mini van the same problem happened. The problem was not the motor but the body control module. The unit had 2 relays, but the BCM actualy controls the unit. To replace the BCM was $450. I bypassed the problem by installing an on/off switch inside the car and activated the motor by by passing the BCM at the relay. That was 3 years ago, still works great. Your BCM may be the problem. Check the schematics of the relays and try doing the same. If you don't have the manuals, your local library has online access to most service manuals that you would have to pay for. Many time you can get access to them through their website if you have a library card. If not, go the library and get full free access to all the major car service manuals for free!

I have a 2007 kia sportage lx 2.0, and just replaced the fuel tank pressure sensor after getting check engine light and consistent P0452. After finding 2 access ports under each back seat looking all over. No sensor found. No helpful info online found anywhere as to location. So bought repair book. It is under car, under evap canister. Hope this helps.

It could be a problem with the fuel pump or igntion module/ coil pack. The next time it stops, fuel pressure needs to be checked and have the ignition coil pack and module tested at a local parts store.

The starter uses both a fuse and a relay. I'm not sure, but I think on your model they are in the fuse box inside the vehicle, in the instrument panel fuse box.
