Why is my 03 bmw 316i using an awful lot of fuel? There are also puffs of blue/black smoke?

Black exhaust smoke can be caused by one or more leaky fuel injectors, too much fuel pressure (sticking fuel pressure regulator), a faulty MAF sensor or Oxygen sensor, or a engine computer fault.. You need a diagnostic test ran on the vehicle. Plug a scan tool into the OBD diagnostic connector and look for any fuel or sensor related fault codes. Test the fuel pressure and the fuel pressure regulator to see if they are operating within specifications. If normal, the next step is to figure out which injector(s) are leaking. You can remove the spark plugs and look for ones that are carbon fouled. Also inspect the air filter

Clutch noise

Bearing noises in a clutch system are easily distinguished by running a few simple tests. Start the engine and leave the transmission in neutral. If a transmission makes noise when it is in neutral it is often a worn input shaft bearing. Now depress the pedal until the clutch just engages. This is the point where the release bearing is just contacting the pressure plate fingers. If you begin to hear a squealing sound this is likely a worn release bearing. If a whirling noise is present when the clutch pedal is fully depressed it is probably the pilot bearing.

I have a bmw 316 I se ( e46) the front drivers side electric window has gone down 3in and won't go down or up other windows are fine what could be wrong?

Start simple. Get some alcohol and clean around the button. If the motor makes any noise then the motor is probably good. It is possible the window could be off the track which would entail removing the inner door panel. Try watching YouTube videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mj36jG5lQP0

316 cranking but not starting

Most likely fault due to lack of fuel supply to engine. Make sure there is fuel in the tank. Check fuse for fuel pump relay, check fuel pump relay clicks when switched on. Check power is going to fuel pump (voltmeter is easiest). Check fuel pump is running (listen to pump).

My bmw 316i 1997 auto is not idling correctly and stalling?

Bad airflow meter hose: usually noticed after replacing an air filterRight behind the Mass Airflow Sensor on the underside of the main hose that connects the throttle body to the airbox is the airflow meter hose that connects to the engine. Very easy diagnosis and replacement. If the hose is bad it will have holes or tears in it from decay and may not be fully connected to either the engine or the throttle body hose. some electrical tape can be used as a TEMPORARY fix while you're waiting for the replacement hose. I would suggest using some type of clamp or even a zip tie on the new hose to keep it in place as it can come off after messing around with the airbox.

Bmw 316i climate control problems

The automatic a/c control units had a problem with internal failure causing them to cut on or off at random. If the lights in the a/c unit remain on when it acts up, you could have a blower resistor problem. If the display goes blank, then I would suspect the a/c unit to possibly be the culprit.

2006 BMW E53. All wipers and cigar lighters not working after battery fail.

If you have a multimeter remove and test the fuses for continuity (OHMS) as fuses can look OK but they have blown. If your replacing fuses ONLY replace the with one of the Same colour and Amp rating.

2003 BMW 325i. It stalls out at idle or when drive it just shuts off. Replaced PCV system and spark plugs and coils. Now what, same problem it's wearing out my starter?

Question edited for clarity. changed your Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) into Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV), and added some punctuation to make real sentences. Your car is run by computers, the computers have diagnostics and will tell you what's wrong. You can't guess faults like you have. A Professional Grade Scan Tool computer can diagnose all the computers, modules, sensors and systems in about 40 minutes. It can even record what happens and what goes wrong as you are driving! https://www.google.com/search?q=mobile+auto+electrician+near+me ..
