PRINT METHOD:
THERMAL TRANSFER.

I advise you to look at other options for printing color labels. For example, you can view articles and reviews on epson colorworks. Quite a good option if you ask me. In any case, I think that the most important thing is the result and that is why I advise you to prepare and order the printer in advance.

try to update firmware. check if driver can read the encoder from a used card.

after you reset to default settings you need to save changes for it to take effect. there is also another password. 1234 will only take you to level 2 you need the level 3 password. this password can be found in the service manuals and some of the full manuals

if you are not using a ribbon you should configure your printer properties in direct thermal the same with your printer configuration in LCD Panel, if your printer properties is different with the LCD Panel error condition ribbon out will come out to your LCD Panel

BBlock is BOOT Block. The printer is not booting up the settings completely. Probably got corrupted. You will need to download the bootblock version for this printer & upload it via either USB or LPT1 port. You should contact Zebra so they can direct you to the proper Zebra site for the download & instructions. The process of the upload is no more that 15-20 minutes.
Zebra phone # is 847-913-2259 I think option 2 is tech support. be sure to have s# of printer & tell them you need to find the boot block & installation info for the S4M. Good luck.

The Zebra ZP 550 will work with the GK 420t driver which is free for download at zebra.com. After installing it restart shiprush and your zebra printer will show up in your printer selection menu.

Try entering the Menu system and exiting, whilst exiting and instead of saving permanent, cycle around to load defaults. once you have done that make sure the settings are as you need such as Thermal Transfer etc and save permanent. You won't have a problem after that. If you do I would be checking the page setup in the software to make sure it fits the lables.

my solution is:

in your barcode software: change printer settings: 1 and 2

1 . in media setting : change media type --> Thermal transfer
2. in documents options , configuration --> use printer settings

First clean the sensor tag and sensor head open and tape. Then perform a calibration label pressing the PAUSE and FEED buttons and turn on the printer, release the keys until it starts to move the label. Wait until you are finished and ready to print.

If your feed key is jammed it will do a config printout on power-up. There are some other printouts that you can do with more keys, but they are not listed in the manual. You may have a couple keys stuck. Try re-seating the panel cable or powering it up without it installed. If memory serves that printer will print online without it as a diagnostic.
