Check your fluids , next check the leg oil , then check to see if you got a good water stream... should be like a good pea stream and not spurtty. . If that is all good check your battery ... if they are problematic they will cause all kinds of problems. Lastly check to make sure the grounds are really tight at the engine and the battery. Relay is shot... the click is the low voltage circuit closing the switch but the power isn't traveling through the high side. Relays are cheap ... if you have an old junk car lift the hood open the fuse box on the drivers side it is loaded with little square relays. . . The idea is the switch isn't supposed to have large amounts of power flying through it so they place a relay which is a magnetic switch away from the use... when you activate it the magnetic current runs through the iron in the switch and it closes the circuit.

yamaha like all engine manufacturers are controlled by the EPA in the countries they are sold In most countries the use by date has been established and 2018 is the end date that they can be sold with the start date being as early as 2015 So to comply with EPA requirements, yamaha would be allowed to sell off existing stock but the retail section ( local dealers ) would be restricted form selling them in certain countries So to answer your question No yamaha would not be making 2 strokes after 2015 as they could not sell them so any you see would be existing stock in dealers being sold off

Black plugs indicate carbon build up. Try starting with ether sprayed into carburetor. If it fires, clean fuel system with spray and additive. Use the fuel engine was designed for.
