There is no setting possible. The ecm monitors the combustion quality and adjusts the timing following the results. It works with "ionic combustion sensors" - adapted for the first time on an outboard. They monitor combustion conditions by detecting the production of ions in the flame. The ECM adjusts the ignition timing based on the ion density to improve combustion.

The supercharger is connected to the engine thru a clutch. I think it should slip in case the charger is stuck. But maybe not enough to allow the electric starter to turn the engine. Did you try to turn the engine by hand with removed spark plugs? If the supercherger is stuck it should be possible to wiggle the kranckshaft a little ( play on the command gears and clutch of the charger) Please give us the right Waverunner type...

Hey Spencer, Its time for a complete carb cleaning and setting by a qualified professional... When you say ran fine out of water.. you DID have the "ear muffs" connected to provide water to cool the engine..?? If you DID NOT.. you MAY have more serious issues. Take this to a qualified pro!!

Mike, why are you needing to remove the screen? Its there to prevent larger particles from entering your engine..if its stopped up, use a pressure washer to CAREFULLY clean it.. other wise leave it there.

Hello, There is a 'brake' screw (with a spring around it) on the vertical tube under the engine. Screw in the have a stiffer steering. If it still don't stiff the steering, the system inside is worn out or bent. You'll have to remove the 4 bolts holding both halves together and remove the complete engine from the steering bracket to get access for repairs.

Well you have a few options here to try and fix this issue. First I would check the kill switch boot and make sure that its still intact. If not then the kill switch is the problem. Second thing is checking all the fuses Third if all checks out ok, your going to want to run a few tests on your CDI. Once you open the front cover, there are two wires a black and a white. your going to want to disconnect those and then check spark or start.
