I had that problem and it was that the paper was damp. It didn't feel damp, but keeping the paper in a hot airing cupboard fixed the issue. If that doesn't fix it, it may be a timing issue that the fusing unit isn't coming on early enough. There must be a switch.

Yes, if you remove the toner cartridge and tap it, you can get the toner to settle and get some extra copies.

The stuck spring will have to be freed up or replaced before the replacement cartridge will seat correctly.

You may have to obtain and install a lens/ccd kit

That is an issue with the scanner.
1. When you turn the machine on, with the document feeder do you see the lamp coming on?
2. Shut the machine off and disconnect the cables from the scanner and document feeder, reconnect them and turn it back on.
If that is not it, A service call is the best thing to do, it is a calabration error in the scanner.

That is an imaging subsystem fault.
You can try turning the machine off, disconnceting and reconnecting the document feeder and scanner cables, then reconnect them to be sure they are properly seated.
Other than that, it would really need a service call.

The CHIP on the NON OEM cartridge is NOT current with correct firmware and as a result the cartridge(s) will NOT reset that a new cartridge has been installed. Future hint...do NOT update as working printer drivers "ever"...as this is one way that the OEM's thwart the aftermarket TONER usage. Good luck
