Our whirlpool washer uses hot water when set on cold? Any suggestions as to why this occurs.

Hello George Stewart, The most OBVIOUS guess would be the cold water FEED is connected to the WRONG (hot water) side... Try reversing those hoses from the wall. Hope this helps... Deep analysis will require a make & model number. Carnac the Magnificent

Whirlpool Duet Sport WFW8500SR01 washing machine. Leaks behind the cement cast.

Question edited for clarity and spelling. The cement is a balance weight. The leak can't be from the concrete block itself, so it must be from where the concrete block is fitted to the drum. If you can dry it thoroughly, yes you can seal around it with silicone caulking.

Whats my cubic feet on the lsb6000pq2

3.1 cu ft by actual measure as a sanity check. Consequently, I'd say that 3.2 cu ft is very likely the "official" number.

I have a Whirlpool SM8525079 rev a. I am trying to locate the lint filter.

Not all of them have filters. Some are under the agitator, some are in the top, some have none. https://www.google.com/search?q=whirlpool+sm8525079+washer+lint+filter Tying the search query to your model only brings up scammy sites, so I don't think you have one https://www.google.com/search?q=%22whirlpool+sm8525079%22+washer+filter ....

Can my Whirlpool LXR7244P04 be fixed?

This is the 'PQ4', if is is that one parts are readily available. The image shows a front loader, but it is a top loader in the schematic. It really depends where the rusty dirt has come from. So yes it can be fixed, but whether economically on a 17 year old machine, that's another story. Call a locally recommended appliance technician to look at it. https://www.searspartsdirect.com/model/2v7wxa8gp2-001198/whirlpool-lxr7244pq4-washer-parts?page=2 ..

Whirlpool washer spin cycle drum banging on side

Well you have done everything that you can do and expertly tested and diagnosed. The problem is doing all the towels together. The only way to fix is mix towels with other laundry or buy a front loader because the tumbling action evens out the load better.

I have a Whirlpool top loading washer #5560SQ0. Repetitive, quick thumping sound at the end of spin cycle - spinnning down.

More likely uneven loading, or stretched shock absorber springs. Do a very small load of things like socks, undies and facecloths that will self balance.

The thing that lets the washer fill up on a top load. You have to put your hand into washer and hold it for it to fill. What is the problem and how do I fix it?

The Water Inlet Valve is the electronic solenoid valve that lets the water in. It is hidden in the back of the machine and is electrically operated. What you are talking about sounds like something completely different. Google Whirlpool (model number) parts diagram https://www.google.com/search?q=%E2%80%8BWhirlpool+(model+number)+parts+diagram ..

Washer somehow got into "control locked" mode and

Hello Shane, welcome to FixYa.

Based on your information posted..."control locked" mode and I do not know how to unlock it" ...this is a fairly common problem with these washers (including Whirlpool, Kitchen Aid, Maytag, Amana, (some)Kenmore to name a few built by Whirlpool) I hear about both on-line and doing on-site service.

The solution, however is usually pretty simple. As long as your washer is indeed the Whirlpool GHW9150 give this a try and let me know how it goes.

Press and hold the "END OF CYCLE /CYCLE SIGNAL" button as you count to 15...this will reset the control.

Good luck. Let me know how you make out as I said and if I can help you in any manner going forward I will do whatever I can.

Thank you for choosing FixYa. Please take a moment to rate the info provided here and a testimony on your experience here at FixYa today is appreciated.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Our whirlpool machine started making a grinding noise right before the final spin, repair person replaced the actuator and it ran one load normally but now is right back to grinding. Any suggestions?

Has he checked the drain pump for loose change or a small object causing that noise? If it is not that, possibly the drum bearing is failing.
