Press and hold the End of Cycle Signal button for 3 seconds or until the Control Locked indicator turns off to unlock the control. This button actually has the marking below it that says " Hold for 3 Seconds to Lock/Unlock Control". You have to check the control for any stuck button and unstuck it if the control still cannot be unlocked with the End of Cycle Signal button and unplugging the dryer for at least 15 minutes. As the freezer is working you can probably discount that the reason is low refrigerant gas. The other reasons would be that the fridge circulation fan has failed. or The channel that directs cold air from the freezer is blocked with ice at the rear of the freezer. Well you have done everything that you can do and expertly tested and diagnosed. The problem is doing all the towels together. The only way to fix is mix towels with other laundry or buy a front loader because the tumbling action evens out the load better.

Turn the temp control to max, does the compressor come on? If yes feel the discharge line at the back of the compressor, is it nice and cold? If yes you can eliminate the simple items, make sure all the fans are working inside the fridge and at the rear of the unit. Check to make sure the defrost drain/trap are clear. Let it run for a while, then drop the temp to the usual setting it, and see what happens.
