I have the same problem. Could be 2 things. 1) The top lid may not be all the way down sealing. I had to out some weights on top to make it seal better. 2) The lid seal could be cracked, partial missing or just not sealing. Good luck trying to find a new seal. I'm still looking.

Try removing the strap holding the drain hose underneath that drains into the pan. Otherwise it acts like a p-trap and holds water that then insulates the upper part of the tube. Condensate water eventually freezes high up in the tube and backs up everything pushing the condensate water into the bottom of the freezer where it freezes into sheets. Leaving the drain hose down keeps air in the tube all the way back up into the freezer area. This seems to keep the condensate water flowing freely into the bottom pan. The air in the open condensate tube does not seem to have an ill affects. Also, you can add some stranded bare copper wire around the heating element just above the drain tube inlet and then push the tail off the copper wire down into the drain tube hole. This helps keep any water in liquid form flowing down the drain pipe.

There shouldn't be any 'jingly tone' at the end of every compressor cycle. You could be hearing something else making a sound after the compressor stops.

The defrost water from the melted frost (ice) collects in the bottom of the freezer. If there is no plugged up drain, then you must remove the water manually with a sponge and bucket after a defrost cycle.

If it’s in floor if freezer, you have a clogged defrost drain. If it’s on inside back freezer wall, it’s a defrost problem

Hello Sandra; My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician. You just have a simple operational and maintenance issue. Neither your compressor or fans should run continuously. First, you need to clean your condensing coil. You did not provide a model number so you either have a flat cooling coil in the front bottom, or a canister type in the back right hand side. This coil dissipates the heat. If it is plugged up your compressor and fans will run trying to keep up with the unit temperature settings. This can make a difference as much as 40 degrees. The toe plate, bottom front is either held in place with a screw on each end. If no screws, there is a clip on each end. Just pull and it will pop out. Second, You only have only one cooling source and that is your freezer. The freezer will try to satisfy itself first before the fresh food section. If you set the temperature controls beyond the unit design settings your compressor and fans will keep running. Set your freezer to -2 or +2 Deg. F., and set your fresh food section to 35-40 Deg. F. Third, Check your door gaskets. make sure there are no gaps.

The solenoids that operate the ice maker and the water dispenser in the door may be getting water internally. I would put a pressure regulator on the line of the pressure exceeds 30 PSI.

The freezer is where the cold air is generated. It knows that is not logical to turn off the fresh food side so it determines that it needs the cold from the freezer side, so it over rides the error and will attempt to start.
