Your bios is too old. Put the drive into an external USB case and it will recognize the full capacity of the drive. You can get a case from any store that sells computer parts.

WD5000aaks western digital 500GB HDD motor not spining,

Try reseating the power connector for the drive. You can try another unused connector if it will reach. Do the same for the data cable. Reseat both ends of the cable a couple of times to shine up the contacts. If none of this works, then a data recovery service will be needed.

Check for a blown fuse on the speaker outputs. You may have to open the cover on the amp to access the fuses. If there are no fuses, then it's possible you ruined an output transistor.

It's possible the hard drive disks are not spinning, the power and data cables may need to be reseated. Otherwise, the drive is history.

No, you don't remove the board. The drive won't work without it. Just install the drive in the case and connect everything up. The computer will find it and assign a drive letter to it.

That is an old drive. No need to buy an exact replacement since that one is so old. Any hard drive will do. If your BIOS supports a larger drive, you can get an even higher capacity drive to replace it.

Western Digital WS1600AAJS is not

Disconnect the power cable from the drive and boot the PC. shut it down, reconnect the power cable and check that you have the data cable in the correct spot. The lower the number on the motherboard the better. Sometimes if you plug the data cable into a socket with a white line around it the computer won't find it After everything is done reboot and see if it sees the drive.

You're going to need a professional data recovery service to get your files. Just google data recovery companies and find out what they charge. You may get lucky and have one close by.

SATA drives don't need jumpers. Just install it and the computer will assign a drive letter to it.
