Make sure you are using ports other than the USB port. Vivitek Service indicates that at least some of their projectors do not use the USB port for input. "The USB port is not in input port. This is used for service only. Please use another input port such as RGB input. Regards, Vivitek Customer ServiceHope this helps.

Turns itsel of after a few seconds

Not the lamp - if it were the lamp it would never turn on in the first place! Check for a defective component in the power supply area especially the capacitors. When their value changes, they are responsible for all kinds of erratic behavior. Items will not turn on, shut down after a few seconds, etc.

Usb is no longer recognised

A simple reboot of device can sometimes fix this problem. Remove your USB, reboot you PC and link in and see if it works now. If it does not, closed down your PC, delay for a few minutes and then start your PC again. To avoid a possible issue between two linked USB Gadgets, detach your other USB, link this one and see if it helps.

All projectors have self dioganisng function. If there is any malfuction inside the projector it will indicated by the LED blinking. Vivtek d510 projector has black and white spots covering 1/3 of projected image

The DLP Chip is failing .The DLP or Digital Light Projection Chip contains up to 8 million tiny microscopic mirrors that tilt to project a digital image onto the screen. These mirrors are failing causing light and dark spots to appear.Unfortunately fixing this projector is probably going to cost more than buying a new one. Hope this helps.

How can I stop my Qumi Q5 shutting down after a minute?

It is most probably overheating. First you need to open up the unit and see if the fan moter is frozen. It is probably because you can't hear it spinning. There are usually two bushings one in the front and one at the rear of the motor. They are usually permentally lubricated but as we know nothing is forever. So, try to take some good quality oil like 3 in 1 and try to drip a drop on either side of the motor where the shaft comes out and then try spinning it by hand. Hopefully that may work but if not then as a last resort try spraying just a very small amount of WD-40 and try spinning it again. If it then does work then use the 3 in 1 again. WD-40 will probably clean the gum out of those bushings but it is not a proper lubricant so that is why you need to use that 3 in one or any good quality lubricant like gun oil. If all else fails then you probably have a bad fan motor and it will have to be replaced. Just so you know I have had this same problem, usually with air conditioning fan motors and most of the time the lubrication method that I just described worked very well. Good luck, Marty

Sir, its white small dots

Place a white piece of paper about 1000mm in front of the screen and focus the image sharply.
Choose menu, image, advanced then select color manager.
go through the color options and check if some pixels are permanently on or off (ie small dots or black) instead of a uniform colour on the screen.

The DLP chip is most likely the faulty component

My vivatek h1080fd after running for a while starts to flicker, loose resolution then shuts down

I have temporarily fixed this issue by directing a fan at the intake vent on the side of the projector. it's gotta be the intake vent and not the exhaust.

Vivitek 1080 power blinks 6 times the flashes red 1 time

That indicates an error in one of the cooling fans, Fan1 (sorry, I cannot recall the physical location of Fan 1). The problem may be that something has jammed the fan and stopped it from rotating. Carefully inspect each cooling fan in turn and ensure they are free to rotate. If they all are, and the connectors are firmly plugged in to the main board, then Fan1 will have to be replaced
