Though it works with windows 7, according to the website, the software that came with it does not.

The power supply is 12 Volt, the center pin is +. i'm currently using a 1 amp replacement power supply(as the origional one burned out years ago), so anything > 1 amp @12 volts will work

Uninstall your sound driver and reinstall it.
Because sometimes driver confliction create this problem.
Also check that your codec drivers installed in your computer problem.
Sometimes your computers codec not supports camcorder codec so this glitches are happen.

Downloaded the latest drivers from http://www.kworld.com.tw/Support_download.aspx?id=241&d1=5&d2=1
and they worked with Vista initially, then when Vista SP1 came out - doesn't work anymore.... Dohhhh Waiting for new version / patch.....
USB 1.0 or 2.0
quick way to find out is plug in device such as phone or usb flash drive, mine tells me that flash drive can preform faster with 2.0 so I'm guessing that mine is 1.0....

it may be that your modem may be damaged
you have problems in telephone line
spyware or adware in your computer

Will it work on win 7
It is not listed in any part in the Microsoft Win7 Compatibility Center (compatible, unknown, not compatible). However, other sources indicate that it doesn't work with Win7.
A work-around may be to use a virtual computer that is running XP and use the hardware on the virtual computer. If you have Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you can download two programs from Microsoft and install the XP mode. (Otherwise you'll need a valid XP license.)
