To my knowledge uniden have predominantly been in communication I go for the more mainstream brands in sounders.

I'll be honest with you Michelle, the radio is ancient. I saw a used one for sale here: https://edsgoodstuff.com/edscart/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=5942 and it went for $25. I don't think it's worth putting much into it. Sorry to have been the bearer of bad news. -Steve

Hi. You'll find that difficult to get as the Ni-cad technology is pretty much obsolete. You could rebuild the battery pack with equivalent sized Ni-MH cells if you can get into it or look for the Alkaline battery holder (GHDZ34956Z) and use rechargeable cells in that. Ok this problem is caused by the spring mic jack
Getting rusty

The first to do is to understand if is the problem of the speaker or is a software problem. Firs you check if is problem with your speaker: you can place headset and see if have sound or not. Or put your speaker in an other computer to check if they work. If the speaker are ok you need to check the pc.

1-800-554-3988 or check local for a marine/radio (ask the local PD or Fire who repairs their radios) repair shop. The ACC cable from the back has wire colors orange(+) and black(-) for external speaker wire connections. Connect a 8 ohm speaker to eliminate the internal speaker gone bad. Have a nice day.

It has been my experience that Uniden won't part with their owners manual cheaply. As a matter of fact, you can probably pick up a new radio for less than the cost of a manual. Welcome to the world of disposable electronics. Sorry I couldn't be of more help to you. -Steve
