I found this There is no specific driver for this drive. You can use a generic driver, I've done it before but cannot recall the exact driver used. It was either a Teac or NEC driver. You must select the driver manually in the device manager and it seems like an odd selection but it does work. If I can locate any additional info I'll update this answer. The correct firmware is only available from the manufacturer. Go to toshiba.com, find your model number and download the latest firmware.

• Anonymous Dec 09, 2021 in system ICON in Control panel see it is 32bit, it fooled you thinking the installer put 64bit on any 32bit only CPU. learn to use the System information page. see you were fooled in w10 , they moved system to settings pages, now. out of control panel for funs and kicks a guess., I bet device manager bleeds with errors I bet.

Moved down here to aid searching this issue. laptop pro C50 The battery is bad, no battery this old lasts to year 2021 ever both batteries are the big one and the tiny coin cell RTC is dead. remove huge battery run on AC power only, (until PC is ok 100% later) 2013 made PC? the manual states this lame PC has a RTC that is rechargeable. so step one per manual is charge it over night wall AC plugged in and turned on PC. that is first but 8 years old many are not bad. RTC battery (shows lithium ION rechargeable in the book) page 108 tells you that the BIOS settings will be all wrong and more. it tells you to correct that after a good RTC battery is installed, or any one ran DEAD (discharged0 https://www.manualslib.com/manual/551765... the huge battery that old is no good. for fact. and both I bet are DOA. ..

The jumper must be shorted at the point of boot up, not before or after. Not easy to do.

rather than spending too much more time fiddling I'd simply Clean Reinstall the printer which always works, lasts longer and actually saves time: Power up the printer, if wired unplug it's USB cable from PC. Go to Settings>Apps>Apps and Features to find and Uninstall the printer software. Next type CMD in Start Search, right click Command Prompt result to Run as Admin, copy and paste in the following command and press Enter: printui/s/t2 (Note that there is one space before each forward slash). Open the Print Server properties, Remove the printer's drivers for this printer and for any other printers you don't use presently. Now type Control Panel in Start Search, open CP, choose Icon View. In Control Panel open Devices and Printers, right click the printer to delete the Printer and any scanner or fax of the same name. Restart PC. Go to the printer model's Support Downloads webpage to download and install the latest full software package. Now is also the time to check for any newer printer firmware to install which matters a lot. Extract Printer software, right click Setup file to Run as Administrator. Follow the setup screens closely as you install the software. For USB it should prompt when to plug in the printer. If you have further problems reply back with results of each step. If it behaves abnormally in standard operation but works correctly in safe mode, it's not a BIOS problem. In safe mode, many features are intentionally disabled; the purpose is to keep a broken feature from interfering with troubleshooting or fixing the system. Unless you must run a particular program that does not work with Windows 10 even in compatibility mode, I strongly recommend upgrading to Windows 10, keeping the computer physically disconnected from the Internet, or converting to a Linux operating system. Windows 7 no longer gets security updates from Microsoft, and is vulnerable to all sorts of malware. Your problem may be just that. You can try a malware removal program, if you can find one that works on Windows 7 and still gets updated on the latest definitions. That may fix the issue.
