Just fixed mine. While plugged in, depress all the buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. It should turn on and show that it is charging. The ticking will stop as well.

After much frustration, I found the solution...Push the set button while on time mode. Push mode until the hour is flashing.Push Split/Reset.That should be your solution!

Hold down the adjust button bottom right then press the mode button top left you will notice the a or p that stands for am/pm will disappear & reappear. If you have an a or p on your display then you are out of military time.

Changing Watch Batteries Lots of posters ask "what is the battery in my (name of watch)" with a view to changing it yourself. This is a bad idea for many reasons. You don't have the tools or knowledge to remove a rotary screw on back, or the gasket sealant for a waterproof watch. Some fashion watches have 4 traditional screw and need professional grade jeweler screwdrivers. Also, there are about 20 batteries commonly used in watches, in various sizes and internal technology, Lithium Ion, Silver Oxide and Manganese Alkaline. If you buy them, you generally have to buy 10! Don't sweat the details. Just take the watch to your local jeweler. They have all the batteries at hand and the tools to remove the back. It is done whilst you wait for $8 to $15! Timex usually have only one lithium battery, if there is not a second battery then you need to send the watch to timex they will fix or replace it! <3

If you can take the band off the watch do it, if you can't that's ok you just have to be a little more careful. I take a 1/2 cup of HOT water, 1/4 cup of Mr. Clean, and 1/4 cup of ammonia. Hook you watch on a cup so it isn't able to slip into the cup, and let it sit for about 10 min. Take a tooth brush and spread open the links and brush away! Make sure after you brush it that you rinse off REALLY good because if you don't you will find that dust and whatever will stick to the band becuse it will be sticky because of the cleaner. If you find you have anymore problem please feel free to ask. I have been cleaning jewelry , watchbands, and watch cases likr this for twenty years , it works well.

Ensure you have only pulled it out one notch as two notches only disconnects the battery.

It is possible that either that the movement of the watch is not aligned properly after a battery replacement.

put a note on Facebook and suggestions - take it to a local jeweler, go to Wallmart where they have all kinds of batteries. So, I'll try the jeweler, and I have to find a wallmart - we are 14 miles from NYC - there must be one around here - so - not solved, but suggestions thanks anyway.adriana
