What does "domain error an argument must be in a

The expression a function acts on (i.e. what is inside the function) is called its argument. The arguments of some functions such as y=ax, y=ax^2 can have any real value. However some functions have arguments that must be in a specified domain: they are restricted to some specified intervals. For example y=square root (x) can act on any positive value, but if you feed it a negative value it is out of the correct domain.

I get -0.017453 as an answer to derivative of cos

The differentiation rules for trigonometric functions you have been taught (ex: derivative of sin(x) is cos(x) ) are correct if the angle unit is in radians. If you use any other angle units (ex: degrees, grads) there will be a conversion factor :derivative of sin(ax) with respect to x is a.cos(ax). Hope that helps

Voyage 200 won't turn on

I've fixed my Voyage 200!! I fixed it using the 3rd solution listed below. I've placed them all in there in case the one I used din't work. The funny thing is the solutions listed weren't even for the Voyage 200. I mistakenly tried the wrong one, but it worked!! I've also posted some soultions listed for the Voyage 200 just incase the others don't work and the website I found these solutions can be found here. Good Luck!!

Website:
http://epsstore.ti.com/OA_HTML/csksxvm.jsp?nSetId=85103&nUsePub=NO&jttst0=6_23871,23871,-1,0,&jtfm0=&etfm1=&jfn=ZG1C0B48595DC76138EFAD7BAC9C1E63B698A69C9FCFEA6C84DEE9934631AC138649F2CD10EBEEF5C5E390C0B8C5F215C2F3

List of solutions that worked for me:

  1. Try a new set of batteries (including the backup battery).
  2. Adjust the contrast by pressing and releasing the [2nd] key followed by pressing and releasing the up arrow; repeat as necessary. To adjust or lighten the display, use the down arrow.
  3. Remove one of the AAA batteries. Press and hold the CLEAR key. While holding CLEAR, reinsert the AAA battery and then turn the calculator on. The calculator should display the message "RAM Cleared". Release the CLEAR key and then press it one more time to remove the message. (worked for me!! Never actually said "Ram Cleared" just had a long box across the screen that filled up and POOF it was back!!)
  4. Remove one of the AAA batteries. Press and hold the DEL key. While holding DEL, reinsert the AAA battery and then turn the calculator on. The calculator should display "Waiting...Please install calculator software now". Follow the instructions for the TI-83 family or TI-84 Plus family to reinstall the calculator operating system.
  5. Remove all of the batteries including the round lithium battery for 5 minutes. After the 5 minute period, reinsert all of the batteries and turn the calculator on. Adjust the contrast if necessary.
Voyage Solutions:

For the TI-89 Family, TI-92 Family, and Voyage™ 200:
  1. Try a new set of batteries (including the backup battery).
  2. Adjust the contrast by pressing and releasing the Diamond Key key followed by pressing and releasing the [+] key; repeat as necessary. To adjust or lighten the display, use the [-] key.
  3. Users of the TI-89 Titanium or Voyage 200 should see the following case before performing the following reset procedure to prevent the loss of valuable Apps.
On the TI-92 family or Voyage 200, hold the [2nd] key and the [hand] key, then press and release the [on] key. On the TI-89 family, press and hold the [2nd] key, left arrow, and right arrow; then press and release the [on] key. This should reinitialize the operating system, in which you should see a progress bar filling on the screen.
  4. Remove one of the AAA or AA batteries. Press and hold the [APPS] key, and while holding the [APPS] key, replace the battery and turn the unit on. TI-89, 92 Plus, or Voyage 200 users should see "Press I to install code...", and should press the [9] key. The calculator should then say, "Waiting to receive...". TI-89 Titanium users should see "Waiting to receive..." or "Waiting to received OS...". You will need to restore the calculator's operating system.

HOW TO FIND CUBE ROOT

There is a way to do it. I believe you go into "complex" or "math" buttons. These buttons are yellow on the calculator. Therefore, to access them you must hit "2nd" then the button.

Better yet, you can also get around this dilemma another way. You can enter "the cubed root of x" by raising x to 1/3.

For example the cubed root of x = x^(1/3). It is best to place parentheses around 1/3 so the calculator knows exactly what you mean.

Another example, the "cubed root of (x + 1)" can be entered by:
(x+1)^(1/3) Note the parenteses around both (x+1) and (1/3). This applies if the radical cover both "x" and "1".

Hope this helps.

7 button doesn't work

If you're talking about your laptop, try to gently remove the button and clean it with a laptop cleaner. spray a bit of it on a small piece of cotton until its damp, not wet, and clean the area, and put the button back on. If it is infact something wrong with the sensor take it to a local computer store. If you're working with a mac, apple should have a solution for you.
