Tascam MF-P01 recorder - hearing nothing during play back

Mine also would not play back on any of the channels but would record. The problem was on the lower board, capacitors C105, C205, C305 and C405, all are 220uF, rated at 10V - on a 9V machine! All four went leaky, which meant that the op-amps each were connected to got a bias which drove the output to 8.5V and no output.
I replaced all four capacitors with new ones rated at 25V and it works again!

Tascam DP01 wont get past please wait screen

Usually an indication of bad sectors on the hard drive. This can be caused by bumping the unit when it is running, excessive vibration, a power failure while it is on, improper shutdown, or expoure to a strong magnetic field like having a subwoofer too close or an intermittent faulty power supply.

Your options are to return the unit (if it is still under warranty), or if not to open up the DP-01, remove the hard drive, connect it to a PC and perform a low level format (or take the drive to your nearest PC repair shop and have them reformat it).

Unfortunately you'll lose any data that wasn't backed up, but this should bring back your DP-01.

Can I bypass my CD driver on my Tascam DP-02? If yes how?

I'm not sure what you mean by "bypass my CD driver", as the unit is designed to record, save, and playback what you record on it. But here's the manual - http://www.tascam.eu/en/docs/DP-02_DP-02CF_Manual.pdf Everything it can do is in there.

Tascam dp-24 keeps shutting down every time I use a condenser mic and turn on the phantom power. Suggestions?

There has to be some sort of conflict between the two units and you may have to use a different mike and/or setup.

Hi! I have just bought a Tascam Studio DP-02 (with a third party power supply) And when i powered it up, after initialising it reads "NO HDD20: PLEASE POWER OFF" anyone help?

It looks like it doesn't recognize the hard drive, this is usually since the power supply is not strong enough, please check the specs on the power supply. According to some info I found it should be: 12V and 2.5A (some sites even report 3A) so 30 to 36W

Tascam 424 mk 11 wont record but lights come on

These unit as small as they are have to be worked on by professionals that know how to fix them. So far as I know there is only me in Chicago and Russ in New Jersey that can repair them. Without seeing the unit I can not tell you more about how to fix it. It could be anything in the unit that has the problem.
