I need a reasonably priced audio interface to use with a remote synth and a MacBook (Garage Band). Any ideas?

I would go for getting someone else to record at studio, means they have all the professional ideas to bring to the table, solve problems, but if your just playing around in home a small focusrite 2/2 should do you, with 2 inputs for left and right mono from desk, or also dual linking in two separate channels via xlr.

Recording problem

1. Press and hold down the ASSIGN A button (the light should be blinking) then (simultaneously) press the REC button above channel number 1. The light should blink when you do this. 2. Release the ASSIGN A and the REC button 3. Press the REC button above channel 1 (the light should be blinking by itself) 4. You should see the meters moving with in the display above Input A and Track 1 when you speak into the microphone. 5. Press the REWIND button twice until the display reads ABS 00.00.00.00 6. Press and hold the RECORD button and press the PLAY button. The REC light above channel one, the PLAY light and the RECORD light should become solid. 7. After recording press the STOP button. 8. Press the REWIND button twice until the display reads ABS 00.00.00.00 9. Press the PLAY button.

Problem tracking cd on cdrw900

Buy a can of compressed air from an electronics store with an attaching straw taped to the can. Open the drive, place the straw into the nozzle and blow it all around into the unit. This should clean the laser head and surrounding areas. When they get a little dusty, they can't read properly.

Tascam 2488 neo mmc control

That seems to be in the midi time sync functions. In cakewalk under options find the midi settings and choose midi device. All of you clock and sync settings should be there. Also I think under the audio menu there are settings for folders and I think a tab for sync is there as well. I use Sonar, which is an upgrade of cakewalk but used cakewalk for a long time. I have it on another computer and will look later to see if I am forgetting something or remembered it wrong and let you know.
