Tappan Speedwave 1000 turns on when door is opened

Microwaves do normally 'turn on', in that the light comes on and the fan starts running. If the turntable starts turning and it is emitting microwave energy, then you need to take it for service or replace it. To me, it sounds fine.

Due to my negligence, the glass tray on the bottom of my Tappan Spacesaver Microwave cracked onto bits and places. How can I replace it?

Try typing the product information into the search engine of your computer, and a dealer should show up. Or, type your model number into the proper box on the website "Searspartsdirect" and they should show you your glass tray on a schematic. You can buy from them, or on Amazon, or on e-bay, God bless your efforts,

How do I get rid of the noise?

Hello, Sarkis - I found 4 descriptions of what may be causing the noise when you operate your microwave oven. See the information on all 4 possible causes here: https://www.repairclinic.com/RepairHelp/How-To-Fix-A-Microwave/78-88--/Tappan-Microwave-is-loud-or-noisy Note: Safety advice I have read regarding microwave oven repair is to have a microwave oven repaired only by an authorized repair technician. It is not do-it-yourself work. Any repair might not be worth the cost compared to purchasing a new replacement. A microwave repair technician authorized to work on Tappan microwave ovens will be able to evaluate what is causing the loud noise and give you an estimate of the repair costs. Note: If you find you need to replace your microwave oven, please be sure the old microwave oven is sent to electronics recycling. Best wishes.

I have O'Keefe and Merritt stove with attached microwave labeled Tappan FCC ID ABM964To3. The "start" button on the microwave quit working. Can I get this repaired?

I had very old parts for the tappan units but they have been out of circulation for quite some time. Unless this is a new tappan that I am not familar with, Most of those parts are no longer available. The FCC ID does not help, you need a model number of the unit to try to look up parts. A Microwave puts out radio waves and such has to be regulated by the FCC. Federal Comunications Commission. That number wont help find parts for the unit. Sorry

My tappan microwave won't shutoff

I would first check the door switches and mounts. My door switch help file is here. If those are good, then you likely have a shorted relay on the control boar, which I can repair for you. Details are here. FixYa doesn't notify us when there's a response, so if you have other questions, please contact me directly. - William E. Before considering a control panel replacement, check all door switches to make sure they are making contact in both directions (some may be single pole double throw). If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/david_29ad5d1dd86564b0

When I press the button to open myMicrowave it starts to run. It did this for I week. Today I did the same thing push the bottom to open the door it open but nothing happen meaning no light on or not

There are several switches (usually 3) located and attached to the door latch area of the microwave. One is a safety interlock that keeps the Micro from running with the door open. At first one of the switches were sticking slightly giving you the attempted run. Then enough stuck to cause the safety to sense it. The safety usually will blow the internal fuse or house breaker. If you are going to get it fixed, best to replace all the door switches and then the fuse also. If by chance it still blows the fuse again you have other problems. At this point I think its just the door switches and fuse.

The display is showing the letters SE. What does this mean?

Unless there is moisture or grease on the control circuit board, "SE" error means you have a shorted membrane keypad. The solution is actually a pretty simple DIY job - to replace the control panel frame assembly - which comes with a new keypad already installed. If I had your full model number from the tag on the oven I could likely give you step by step instructions with the part number you need. You can find links to helpful exploded view diagrams and part ordering help here, where you can also e-mail me directly. I recommend that you bookmark that link to your favorites.

How do I get to the fuse on my cabinet tappan microwave?

Then you have blown a fuse. Check inside the oven chamber and look for missing powder paint or signs of arcing, if so dispose of the microwave. If the inside is good remove all the screws and remove the cover. Replace the fuse. If the magnetron was making louder noises prior then replace the magnetron. Since the fuse went the giant capacitor is likely bad. While the cabinet is open make sure to look for burned wires, check the continuity of thermal cutoffs, and check the main circuit-board for burned traces or components. The relays in most electronics are known for arcing (spot welding) and staying in the wrong position. Tap them hard with the back end of a screwdriver. During all of this use safe electrical practices by having the power cord unplugged. The capacitor could still have a high charge on it so be careful.

Mytmv151fs keeps on blowing 20 amp fuse

That is a big fuse. I think the filament in your magnetron has failed, and has fallen on the metal casing, causing a dead short.

Microwave does not complete operation. defaults to

please make this test and fix it. God bless you
  1. ain control boardIf your microwave runs for a few seconds and stops, the first thing to check is the main control board to ensure that a shortage has not occurred. If the part is defective then it will need to be replaced to prevent continual shut offs. If this is not the issue, the next step would be to check for a faulty touchpad.
  2. Touchpad/Control panelIf the control board is not the issue and your microwave continues to shut off after running for only a few seconds, the next thing to check is your touchpad, which is also known as a control panel. Although uncommon for this issue, symptoms are usually that the display and some buttons are working properly; however, when selected some buttons are not functioning. If this is the case the touchpad will need to be replaced.
