Sounds like a bad main board, or more specific the EEPROM is bad on the main

Well I just changed the resolution settings in my android box to 720 from 1080p > plugged it in and my box now works...simples.

You can try but I don't think that will help, sounds like power supply issues, open the back and look for bulged caps
