How can I get my Yamaha RX-V383 amplifier to work with my Sony BDP-S5100 Blu-ray player?
Hi,
Please double check that you're using multiple cables from your blu ray and not just one. A coax cable can connect your bluray player to your amp and then another cable from hdmi output can connect to your projector.
If you need more help in figuring out exact cable types and detailed home-theatre setup guide, you can reach out to dolby as well by calling 415-558-0200. They do home theatre setup as well.
Thank you.
Access MD function without remote
Hi, just came across the same device, but remote is missing. Your solution to hack the audio is not acceptable. I continued looking. And found a way which is not mentioned on any forums.
THE SOLUTION is ANDROID APP on PLAY STORE:
1. GET THE APP "irplus".
2. OPEN APP AND "ADD NEW REMOTE"
3. SELECT BRAND "SONY(Various&Legacy)"
4. SELECT DEVICE "CMT-Series"
5. TAP the "TICK" in the upper right corner TO FINISH.
6. YOU WILL SEE REMOTE. TAP ON "INPUT+" to select "AUDIO IN"
7. ENJOY THE BEATS
BTW YOU ARE WELCOME
Stuck disc
The carriage assemblies for these units are known to break. Please DO NOT attempt to remove the disk. Bring this to an authorized Sony service center. They should be able to give you a fixed price repair quote. This is the only way to save the disc and prevent further damage to the assembly. The replacement assemblies are a bit better than the originals so you shoudn't have this problem again.
I have repaired a number of these with much success. Care must be taken so that the disc heads are not damaged.
Keep us posted.

Sony cmt-cp33md,place dic in machine,toc
The
c13 error means that the player is unable to read the table of contents
(TOC) on discs any more. If it's an occasional error then you can try
switching to TDK blanks as they seem to be easier for flaky players to
read, but if it's happening regularly to all discs then your machine is
unrepairable due to a total lack of spare parts.
On the plus
side, there are millions of MD units now lying unused as folks have
moved on from them and as they're mostly worthless people don't
generally bother with trying to sell them. Almost every piece of MD gear
I own has come free of charge via my local FreeCycle and Freegle
groups. Whatever you do, don't buy a used player from anyone: they're
all getting on now and the TOC error is an age-related fault which may
occur at any time.
If you wish to see exactly what features other machines have then visit the superb equipment browser at minidisc.org.
The site is hosted but n longer maintained though so some information
is out of date, but it's still the most comprehensive source of free
information about MD available.
Sorry here's probably no hope for
your player, but I hope that my reply has given you a practical
alternative means of solving your problem.
13 years old Sony ICF-SW7600 not working
Sony radios of this era had notorious capacitor problems.... also several other brands were affected. These capacitors were underrated and the technology to make them was not at it's best back then. The cure is to replace the capacitors on the board with new electrolytics. About 28 of them need to be replaced but the big problem is to find someone to do this. the original capacitors are surface mount and must be removed and new radial lead caps put in their place, some are rather tough to get at and the new ones have to be placed carefully. My SONY ICF-SW7600 now works as new and maybe even better!
I have done this myself as I have skills working with surface mount capacitors. I offer my services to those who cannot find service for their radios. Please email me for details, I am not into making bucks on this, I just want to see these radios kept working and bringing enjoyment to their owners.
