I have a sony S-master CMT-SPZ50 and everytime i turn it on and my music starts playing it goes straight to standby and has been doing this for weeks now. how do i fix this?

If your Sony S-Master CMT-SPZ50 audio system keeps going into standby mode shortly after turning it on, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
  1. Power cycle the system: Turn off the audio system and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can help reset any temporary glitches or issues.
  2. Check the speaker connections: Ensure that all the speaker wires are properly connected to the audio system and the speakers themselves. Make sure there are no loose or frayed wires that could be causing a short circuit or interruption.
  3. Disconnect external devices: If you have any external devices connected to the audio system, such as smartphones or MP3 players, try disconnecting them to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, an incompatible or malfunctioning external device can cause the system to go into standby mode.
  4. Reset the system: Look for a reset button or option on the audio system. It could involve pressing a specific combination of buttons or using a small reset pinhole. Refer to the user manual for instructions on how to perform a system reset.
  5. Check for overheating: If the audio system is located in a confined space or if the vents are blocked, it could lead to overheating and cause the system to go into standby mode. Ensure that the system has adequate ventilation and is not exposed to excessive heat.

How do I fix Sony CDP-CX355 that keeps continually moving the carousel back and forth and never goes all the way around?

If your Sony CDP-CX355 CD player keeps moving the carousel back and forth without completing a full rotation, it could indicate a mechanical issue. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Power cycle: Turn off the CD player, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. Sometimes, a power cycle can resolve temporary glitches.
  2. Reset the player: Look for a reset button or option on the CD player. This could involve pressing a specific combination of buttons or using a small reset pinhole. Refer to the user manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.
  3. Check for obstructions: Inspect the carousel and the area around it for any obstructions. Remove any CDs or debris that may be blocking the movement of the carousel. Ensure that there are no loose parts or foreign objects interfering with the operation.
  4. Clean the player: Dust and dirt can affect the performance of the CD player. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently clean the surface of the player, including the carousel and any accessible internal components. Be cautious not to apply excessive force or use liquids that could damage the player.
  5. Lubricate the carousel mechanism: Over time, the carousel mechanism may become stiff or dry, causing issues with rotation. Applying a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the moving parts of the carousel can help improve its movement. Use a lubricant specifically designed for electronic components and follow the instructions provided.

I have a Sony CFD-565 cd/cassette boombox. Spindle doesn't spin.

Replacing the mechanism includes the motor assembly. The motor will not spin up until the laser acheives focus. I would replace the laser with a new one, not second hand as you may never get to know, where the fault lies.

Hey i have a sony dav tz715 i have a prob with the sound

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with the sound speakers on your Sony DAV-TZ715 system when using the USB function with RFD multi mode. However, the problem resolves itself when you switch to other functions like TV. There could be a few potential causes for this issue: 1. Interference: The USB function may be more susceptible to interference, which is causing the noisy sound on the SUR L and R speakers. This interference could be originating from the USB source itself or other nearby electronic devices. 2. Compatibility: There could be a compatibility issue between the USB source and the RFD multi mode on your Sony system. It's possible that the USB source's audio format or settings are not fully supported by the RFD multi mode, resulting in the noise issue. 3. Firmware or software issue: There might be a firmware or software problem with your Sony DAV-TZ715 system. It's worth checking if there are any firmware updates available for your system that could potentially resolve the issue. You can visit the Sony support website or contact their customer support for assistance with this. To troubleshoot the problem, you can try the following steps: 1. Test with a different USB source: Connect a different USB device or try playing different audio files from the same USB source to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the problem is specific to the USB source or if it's a more general issue. 2. Check audio settings: Explore the audio settings on both the USB source and the Sony system. Make sure the audio format and settings are compatible with the RFD multi mode. You can refer to the user manual of your Sony DAV-TZ715 system for instructions on adjusting the audio settings. 3. Isolate interference: Move the USB source away from other electronic devices and potential sources of interference, such as Wi-Fi routers, cordless phones, or microwave ovens. This might help reduce any external interference that could be affecting the sound quality. 4. Perform a factory reset: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you can try performing a factory reset on your Sony system. This will reset all settings to their default values. Refer to the user manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset. If the problem still persists after attempting these troubleshooting steps, it's recommended to reach out to Sony customer support for further assistance. They will have access to specific knowledge about your Sony DAV-TZ715 model and can provide more specialized guidance in resolving the issue.

Problem with stuck magazine....

OK I have had exactly the same problem and spent the last hour or so fixing it. It seems to have its logical knickers in a twist after the battery going flat and won't eject because its left a CD in the playing position, IE, out of the magazine. So, remove the changer from the car (usually velcro then pull off the two phono and the power connectors) and undo the four small cross head screws holding the case on. Pull the front panel off (you may need to pinch the case in the middle top and/or bottom as there is a clip here holding the front panel), then either pull the sides of the case out until the two rotary Horizontal/vertical mount controls disengage (or you may be able to rotate them anti-clockwise until they pop off, but I didn't try this) and lift off the lid. Next, pull the four little mounting posts on the internal deck assembly out of their four rubber mounts on the outer case, and disengage the two springs from the horizontal/vertical mounting controls. The mech is now loose inside the case but be careful as its attached by a rather delicate ribbon cable to the outside cables and connectors, This will unplug after you pull off the sticky tape holding it to the chassis, but you might be able to do the rest of this without unplugging it if you turn the mech over carefully. You will see a motor assembly and several white cogs (actually you will see two but the little tiny one with a worm (spiral) drive only moved the CD mech optical head so ignore that one). Using a small screwdriver, carefully rotate the cog closest to the motor so that (viewed with the motor closest to you and to the right) the plastic parts under this assembly start to slide to the right. You should actually be able to see the CD underneath start to move to the laft, back into the magazine, and the CD mech will open up to release it. Once the cog doesnt want to turn any further (and the CD is completely back in the Mag), then you will be able to manually eject the mag by pulling sideways gently on a round white part on the mag side. The mechanism should click and release the mag. Hey presto... fixed. Now just reassemble the whole thing back into its case, probably a good idea to check that each of the CD's is correctly seated in the mag and that there is nothing wrong with any of them that could cause it to jam again, then go try it in the car prior to final assembly. As we now know that this unit seems to be prone to throw a wobbly if its power is removed with a CD in it, I would strongly recommend that you eject the mag before disconnecting the unit for final assembly, assuming it all works OK now, or indeed any time you might have to disconnect the car battery for any other reason. Hope this helps, it did it for me! Mark

My Sony RCD-W100 is ten years old but can no longer record on today's blank CDs. Can Din Unlock allow use of today's crop of CD-R blanks?

The "Din Unlock" feature on the Sony RCD-W100 is designed to allow the recording of audio CDs from external analog sources. It is not directly related to the compatibility of the device with different types of CD-R blanks. If your Sony RCD-W100 is not able to record on newer CD-R blanks, it could be due to a few reasons: 1. Incompatibility: The device may not be compatible with the specific type or brand of CD-R blanks you are using. Different CD-R blanks have varying quality standards, and older recording devices may have limitations in recognizing or writing to certain types of discs. 2. Firmware/Software Update: Older recording devices may not have firmware or software updates available to support newer CD-R formats. Check the Sony support website to see if any updates are available for your specific model. 3. Aging Laser: Over time, the laser in the recording device may deteriorate, making it less effective at recording on CD-R blanks. This is a common issue with aging optical drives. To address these concerns, you can try the following steps: 1. Update Firmware/Software: Check the Sony support website for any available firmware or software updates for your model. Installing updates may improve the compatibility of the device with newer CD-R blanks. 2. Try Different CD-R Blanks: Experiment with different brands or types of CD-R blanks to see if the device recognizes and records on any of them. Higher-quality CD-R blanks may have better compatibility. 3. Clean or Service the Device: If the device has been in use for ten years, it may benefit from a thorough cleaning or servicing. Dust or debris on the laser lens can affect its performance. Consult the device's user manual or contact Sony support for guidance on cleaning or servicing the unit. If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it may indicate that the recording device has limitations that prevent it from working with newer CD-R blanks. In such cases, you may need to consider upgrading to a newer recording device that supports the latest technologies and formats.

Sony TA-SA300WR surround amplifier red light keep blinking

Does it blink to the beat of the sound or is it flashing? If it's flashing with no audio it usually means overheating. If it beats to the music it's usually is a warning that you are "clipping" which means you're overdriving the amplifier This can damage the speakers and overheat the amplifier. Avoid red lights by having each stage of amplification not exceed 95%.
