I think I've just answered this question :-

It won't be a driver problem, DVD drives are generic, it will be either the drive has a problem, the dvd has a problem or your media player has a problem

1) Drive issue - does it player other dvd's - if yes, your drive is ok, if now you have a drive problem, try using a CD lens cleaner or a blast of canned air to clean the lens.

2) Disk issue, if just one disk doesn't play, then its a disk issue or data issue. Assuming the disk is clean and not scratched. Does the Disk have the correct country coding for your region. If not then you have to change the region setting on your DVD player

RMB My computer - Manage - Device manager - Optical drive - Properties - Regional settings.
Bear in mind most DVD player will only allow about 5 changes.

3) Media player, your current media player may not have the correct codecs to decodes the video files on this disk. Go to filehippo.com download and install VLC media player. This will play about anything and its free.

Sony CD-RW CRX320EE is not

Take a paperclip, find a small hole in the front of the drive, and push the paperclip into the hole. The CD drive should eject. If it does not, it is time first of all for a new one anyway, but you may have to disassemble the drive to grab the CD.

My sony dvd-rom/cd-rw crx320ee not

Press the Open/Close button -- if nothing happens (listen closely for any sounds) and the tray does not open, it's possible that there is no electrical power reaching the Sony.

Turn the computer off.
Disconnect the power cord.
Open the side panel.
Check that the SONY is getting power, i.e., that the power-connector is fully-connected to the SONY.
Check that the "data" cable is securely connected to the motherboard and to the SONY.

If all else fails, spend $40 to buy a new CD/DVD reader/writer,
to replace your "broken" one.

Wont read cd's

You could either pay $50 for a qualified technician to "trouble-shoot", and still not fix it, or you could pay $40 to $50 to buy a brand-new CD/DVD reader/writer. Your choice?????

Hello mychella513, hi, there is no need for you to find the device driver for your sony combo, because its already present in windows. If you cannot power on the device or the computer cannot detect your drive, its defective, Windows has already installed the device driver for CD/DVD for your computer.
