My Sony Combo Model CRX320AE

Try a different CD/DVD
1. First we must determine if the cd/dvd or the cdrom itself has a defect 2. Try at least 10 cds to test on your cd/dvd player
Try Deleting LowerFilters / UpperFilters
To do this follow the steps below:
1. Click Start -> Run (for XP) or Start Search (Vista) or search for programs and files (Windows 7)
2. Type Regedit
3. Click on the plus sign beside HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\

4. Under Class Click on the Folder {4D36E965-E325- ....} (note that the alpha numeric numbers are quite similar we only need ....65)

5. Look for UpperFilters and Delete it
6. Look for LowerFilters and Delete It
7. Restart the computer

If it did not work try
Replacing the IDE cable
1. Open thechassis of the computer (refer to your computer manual) 2. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the gray cable that looks like a belt at the back of the computer

I highly advice you to keep that one for reading what it can read now, and to buy new device since they are really cheap nowdays, you can get them from ebay or amazon.com under 25 bucks.

Thats the situation, I wish you best of luck snake :)

Please rate my solution if you can that would be nice :)

In my sony dvd combo

HERE IS WHAT YOU DO .!

is it new if its new then look for the customer support center for warranty and if its out of 6 months warranty then clean your DVD combo with cleaner and then check the SATA cable if its attached properly ,,, and also change the power supply wire, just for a check , if problem don't persist then may be you have a power supply issue... cause DVD power usage is a little high, and CD's take low POWER , just some points difference .

do vote if it helps

I want to download drivers for Sony CRX2100u

Hello there;
The best way to download drivers for your sony cd-rw burner should be going there official website however that driver comes already with your operating system, that means its plug and play. But if your looking for software to have something to use for burning or writing CD then you might have to have a burning software like NERO.
Have a nice day...

When I insert blank DVD

Hi,

My first test would be to determine if the blank DVD is faulty. Try using a different brand of DVD and see if you get the same error. My experience tells me that your combo drive is faulty however. It is possible for a combo drive to read a CD but not a DVD. I would replace the combo drive with a DVD writer as they are not too expensive.

Best wishes,

Can't recognise DVD RW

Hi all,

Boy, have I been having a problem. I've tried two different dvd burners, an external TDK DVD+/- RW drive and now an internal NEC dual layer DVD+/-RW drive. I have a Dell Dimension 4500 that came with a Dell branded Windows XP Pro. Have you ever tried getting support from Dell? What a freaking bad joke that is.

Microsoft says there is known problem with XP viewing a DVD+/-RW disc the same way it views a CD+/-RW disc. Problem is a CD RW uses 32 bit packets and a DVD RW uses 16 bit packets. As a result, without the fix, my computer can't recognize there is a DVD RW disk in the drive when trying to burn to it. It recognized DVD +R and DVD-R discs just fine, and I am able to burn to those with no problem.

What I want to do is image my hard drive and burn the image to DVD. That I can't do, because it always comes up with "no disk" or some variation thereof anytime I try to write to an RW disc. Any suggestions? Has anyone else had this problem?
