It will depend on where exactly it has 'come loose' from. Considering the cost involved is it worth repairing? If it is just the glass sheet and none of the working / moving parts, it is held in place with a strong adhesive/glue. It should re-stick with Careful use of a good quality contact adhesive or superglue. If some of the mechanism has come loose it would be easier to simply replace the entire set of scales.

Sometimes a CR2340 battery is still in it's package, but it may be very weak, even though it tests OK. Try another good battery.

try repeated pressure to reset (5-6 times in 10 sec) or could see if there is a small hole near battery compartment, push with paperclip (button reset)

suspect thats the battery - change it and see

I found that one of four feet of scales had the sensor short-circuiting. After padding it with two pencils so that it never gets pressed i get steady readings of right weight from three remaining (and no battery warning and rolling counter)

Be sure to place the luggage in the dead center of the scale, this will distribute weight evenly across the scale, also try to keep it on a level floor, any slight incline or decline to a side of the scale, will give you a bad reading.

How do you know the scale is incorrect, how do you reference it to the current reading?

You have to calibrate your scale.
There are all kinds of digital scales that can be used to weigh objects. Smaller scales can be helpful while cooking or performing a scientific experiment. Individuals step on larger scales in order to see how much they weigh. Regardless of what kind of scale you own, it's important to calibrate the scale a few times a year to ensure that you receive accurate information when you do attempt to weigh an item. 1. Turn the digital scale on and wait for roughly 30 seconds to 1 minute. 2. Locate the correct calibration button on your digital scale. For most digital scales, it will be one of the following: "Function" or "FUN," "CAL," "MODE" or "CAL/MODE," "LB" or "KG." 3. Press and hold the calibration button until the screen on your digital scale changes. It will most likely first change to "0," "000" or "CAL." Continue holding the button until the scale goes into calibration mode. You will know this has occurred when the screen reads "CAL" followed immediately by a number. The screen may also simply display a number. 4. Place the correct test or calibration weight onto the scale. This will be the weight that came with your digital scale. If you have misplaced this weight, you can purchase a new one wherever you bought your digital scale or directly from the manufacturer of your digital scale. 5. Allow the weight to rest on the scale for roughly 3 to 5 seconds. 6. Press and hold the proper calibration button. Your screen will either change to "CAL," "0" or "END." Look around and see if it has a reset button ...and reset it to factory settings ..Probably happened with it ..or cause it repeated you are doing something wrong when you set it .....probably you lock it in the last read ..cause it indicates the same measurement ..So ..all devices like that have to have a reset button ...locate it ..(it may be in the menu as a feature..and called different probably ..factory defaults or factory settings ..or reset all ..) and after you engage the reset it will work again ..but ..read the manual carefully and see what are you doing wrong ...

Had same and after short cirquit two contacts under silver sticker it started to calibrate, show 40 80 120 kg ...
