Not all televisions have Firmware Updates. They are only updated for a specific problem or to add a feature to a new set. Firmware tells the unit what to do, and what to allow before the software loads. Software Upgrades are more likely and are not fraught with the dangers of firmware which if fail, usually means buying a new motherboard. For software, you just try again.

For model-specific details, always refer to your Sharp TV's user manual. If you provide your TV's model number, I can offer more tailored instructions.
Check HDMI Cable Connection: If you're using an external device like a cable box, gaming console, or streaming device connected to the TV via HDMI cable, ensure that the HDMI cable is securely plugged into both the TV and the external device. A loose connection can cause intermittent resolution adjustments.
Adjust Picture Settings: Navigate to the TV's menu and check the picture settings. Look for options related to display resolution, aspect ratio, or picture mode. Ensure that the settings are configured correctly for your viewing preferences. Try resetting the picture settings to default and see if the issue persists.
Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your TV. Sometimes, software updates can fix bugs or issues related to display resolution adjustments. You can usually check for updates in the TV's settings menu or visit the manufacturer's website for instructions on how to update the firmware.
Check Signal Source: If you're experiencing resolution adjustments while watching content from an external device, such as a cable box or streaming device, make sure the signal source is sending a consistent signal. Issues with the signal source can sometimes cause the TV to adjust its display resolution.
Reset TV: Try performing a factory reset on your TV to restore it to its original settings. Keep in mind that this will erase any customized settings and preferences, so you may need to set up the TV again after the reset.
Contact Magnavox Support: If the issue persists after trying the above steps, it's possible that there may be a hardware problem with the TV. In this case, it's recommended to contact Magnavox customer support for further assistance or to inquire about repair options.
By following these troubleshooting steps, you should be able to diagnose and resolve the issue of your Magnavox TV constantly adjusting its display resolution.
Hope this helps

Unfortunately, you cannot convert an analog TV to digital simply by changing settings. The transition from analog to digital involves hardware changes. If you have an older Sharp TV without a built-in digital tuner, you may need an external digital converter box or consider upgrading to a newer TV with a built-in digital tuner to receive digital broadcasts.
Question edited for a lot more clarity! All questions need full 'make model (what it is)' please.Question moved to Sharp Aquos category. This is their support page which is pretty bad. There is an email link. You don't say WHY you want a firmware update, but firmware in not supplied for televisions according to our Fixya television expert Larry. Firmware updating is fraught with danger and should not be undertaken lightly even when it is available. Sharp only supply software updates, no firmware.https://www.sharpusa.com/Support/ProductDetail.aspx?model=LC-60E78UNSOFTWARE updates are here in the manual on this page and continues in detail on the next page.https://www.manualslib.com/manual/318507/Sharp-Aquos-Lc-60e78un.html?page=24..
the reason as to why your sharp dvd player isn't working is because there may be a disk stuck inside, try pressing the STOP button, unplug it, press EJECT while plugging it
The first thing is to always remove the batteries, wait 15 minutes and replace the batteries with fresh new ones.
If that doesn't work you can try cleaning the remote with a wet cloth, and then switch cleaning spray to ensure the problem isn't a stuck key and dirty switch contact.
If that doesn't work, just order a copy facsimile remote made for the television. They are cheap enough and need no programming

From the past history of Hisense brands of TV's the power board very seldom gives issues, they build them quite well, the only way to troubleshoot this issue is with a multimeter, look for the power on pin on the power supply connector going to the main board, you need to see about 3.5 vdc there when you turn the set on, I think you will see the voltage there for a few seconds then drop to almost 0, if you find this it's the eeprom that's lost it's data, this IC is located on the main board, there are 2 fixes, one is to replace the IC the other is replace the board. The chip costs under $20 but it's somewhat difficult to replace. Here is the listing for the IC https://www.shopjimmy.com/sharp-dkeymf905fm04-kf905-qpwbxf905wjzz-main-board-loc-ic8401-eeprom-only/
