It cam be the LCD panel, T-CON board, or main board. Very difficult to narrow down to exact baord without manual and proper tools. I would first find out if the switched 12vdc feeding theT-CON board is OK, also try reseating the ribbon cables on the T-CON board.

Or www.digikey.com just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current, long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.

unplug Tv ans see if it comes back. If not, the power supply has defected or may be the main board.

MKV is a video container format which may contain various video or audio codec. If the video or audio codec is not supported by Samsung, it will fail to play mkv files on Samsung. To play unsupported MKV files, it is better to convert MKV to MP4 H.264 with the help of Avdshare Video Converter.

Problem persists : ------------ ----------- ---I have configured the network in the samsung 40" LCD TV, using Ethernet cable to a router. The ping test, DNS server, GW Tests are passing ok. I am able to ping to the IP address of the samsung TV from my Laptop. My internet browsing via the service provider Airtel is otherwise working excellent with Laptop (Vista) or MacBook.
Router : 192.168.0.1 Laptop : 192.168.0.16 Samsung : 192.168.0.5 GW : 192.168.0.1
But Internet #TV gives "Service Not supported"
Any known issues?

Saya ada tv led polytron , saat dalam keadaan mati tv saya nyala kan dgn remote tapi tidak keluar gambar sedangkan ada suara dan lampu nya. Lalu saya coba matikan dan hidupkan lagi tetap sama gambar tidak ada sedangkan suara dan cahaya ada, setelah beberpa kali saya on of percobaan ke tiga smpai ke 4 lalu tv menyala dgn normal... kira kira kendala nya apa ya...pls di kasih pencerahan

Usually this would be the ribbon cable going to the screen from one of the boards!

Check the connection first otherwise replace the cable.

This is a common Power Supply / Backlight Inverter Board issue. If you open up your TV you will see a long white board that is on the right side of your TV. You have to replace that board to get this issue fixed. You can find the board here BN44 00264B Samsung Power Supply Backlight Inverter

Replace the 3 ceramic fuses on the Power Supply Board and you should be good to go.

What happens when you turn the TV on? Is there a clicking noise or popping sound?

what do you mean by distorted? are colors wrong? or are colors washed out?

A lot of flat panel tv's have crapo capacitors from China, and they interfere with 'ready' circuits. Replace main capacitors on ps area, TV should come on.

The issue has been resolved. I removed the back of the TV (pretty easy actually) by laying a blanket over the kitchen table and placing the TV face down. I started with the power supply as an obvious beginning. Both fuses on the board tested fine. And touched up every solder joint with a hot soldering iron in case the problem was a cold solder joint. After this painstaking venture, I performed another visual inspection and noticed a capacitor that had a thin black X on the top of the can. This is a common sign the capacitor has over heated. I located a replacement for $1.20, installed, and successfully powered up the TV. I have had no problems since.
Oh, yeah, I also paid $120 for a BN44-00150A replacement power supply, plus overnight shipping. It actually arrived three weeks later. That was two weeks and six days after I fixed the power supply myself.

Unplug for 30 seconds from it's power source and then try it again. If that doesn't work, call Samsung for further troubleshooting and have your model number and serial number handy. Please be prepared to tell them how long the line is.

Can't say this for sure, but if it's a power supply problem, take the TV apart and access the power supply (unplug it, of course). Look at all of the capacitors (the little round cans with 2 wires either coming out the bottom or one coming out on either end). If they appear to be bulging (you can tell a good one from a bad one very easily), they're most likely bad and many times replacing those will solve your power supply problem.
